These following prompts are to get your creative juice flowing and not mean to be a restrain. You do not need to follow these prompts at all. As long as your entry somewhat related winter, December or Christmas, you will be eligible to be considered. Characters that inspire you whose name or setting connects to the winter theme will also count (ie. Snow White).

____

1 | Frosty the Snowman

Frosty the Snowman

Was a jolly, happy soul,

With a corncob pipe and a button nose

And two eyes made out of coal.

There must have been some magic

In that old silk hat they found,

For when they put it on his head

He began to dance around.

Pretend that you and your friends are going to build a life-sized snowperson. What name will you give it? Does your snowperson come to life like Frosty? What makes the magic happen? What personality does it have?

2 | Winter by Khalid

What kind of love do you think the person is describing? How did things end between the two persons? How does it affect the narrator?

3 | The Mountain Between Us

Stranded after a tragic plane crash, two strangers must forge a connection to survive the extreme elements of a remote snow covered mountain. When they realize help is not coming, they embark on a perilous journey across hundreds of miles of wilderness, pushing one another to endure and discovering strength they never knew possible. The film is directed by Academy Award nominee Hany Abu-Assad and stars Academy Award winner Kate Winslet and Golden Globe winner Idris Elba.

You can write a drabble based on one of the scenes from the trailer above, or you can watch the full movie for more inspiration and write a short sequel or a scene narrating from one of the two characters' POV.
