Insecurities (Edward Pikeman x Insecure!Reader)

Late Night

(NO ONES POV)

It was passed lunch, and everyone was sent back to their tents or cabins. Y/n walked slowly back to Pikeman's cabin, not really wanting to talk about the cause of the self harm. Not like the summer before caused her self harm, shes just not comfortable mentioning her father and mother at this point.

(Pikeman's Pov) 

I awaited her arrival, sitting on my side of the bed. I held my hands in my lap, going over what would cause such a beautiful girl to harm her body like that. 'What was it. Why would she do that?'

I was snapped from my thoughts when i heard the door open and soft foot steps pad into the room, I shot up onto my feet and rushed to her. She softly shut the door as i embraced her, holding her close to my chest. her arms hung by her sides for a moment before she lifted them to hug me back, she was trembling like she was crying or something, maybe she was scared? 

Pulling away I looked at her, smiling slight to try and comfort her. Her eyes were dull and she looked away from me, my heavy hands grabbed her own and I knelt down. 

"Y/n, whats wrong?" I asked her, staring into her empty eyes. I moved my left hand to her cheek and she finally looked me int the eyes. 

"I-It was dads house... I don't want to talk about it." She spoke with soft words, I don't want to push it so I hugged her again. Picking her up, she held onto me tight and nestled her face into my shoulder. I carried her to the bed and laid down with her, holding her close to me as I let her sleep.

(NEXT DAY) 

I woke up to find her sitting up messing with my hair, the tufts on my head being braided. I looked up at her then chuckled, "having fun?" i asked with a smug  tone not expecting her to nod and smile, one of those mischievous little smiles. I reached for her hand and she held mine pulling my tufts out of their braids, I sat up and hugged her. She looked up at me and laid her head into my chest hugging my arm in return. 

(Y/n's Pov)

My whole mood changed, I felt so much better from how I did last night. Being in Edward's presence made me feel so happy, I felt like a feather on a bird being flown to millions of places. Being embraced by him made my heart jolt from my chest, he just makes me so happy for some reason. 

we both got up, and started getting ready for our day. I showered first, then got dressed and pulled my hair back (UNLESS YOU HAVE SHORT HAIR). then he showered, and got dressed fixing his wavy tufts back to the normal tufts he usually has. He smiled at me and then fixed my collar and sash, as we walked out the door and to the mess hall. Not even knowing what time it was, normally Pikeman's gone by the time Iwake up but today he wasn't. Soon we were approached by Snake.

"Where have you two been? You missed breakfast!" Snake then glared and looked at our hands, taken aback by us holding hands. "Never mind." he dropped it and walked off, "Oh and we have the day off, its Saturday." he trotted off to catch up with pet.

I looked up at Pike and we both smiled and started to laugh, Pike swooped down and picked me up over his shoulder continuing to walk carrying me like a sack of potato's. I giggle and hang there limp laughing at his childish behavior, I hug him tight and hold onto him. we make it to the mess hall and he sets me down.

"What'cha want for breakfast princess?" he asks, the princess part of that question made my face flush a deep red, I then shove him and he laughs. 

"Bacon sandwich" I growl at him and he takes me to the kitchen.
