"Any customers?" Jack asked Greg on the ride home.

"Only a few, but they didn't buy anything," Greg replied. "I need to head out for a few minutes tonight."

Jack gave his son a long look of surprise before finally speaking.

"That's another night you're willingly going out. Who is she?" he asked with a large smirk.

Immediately annoyed, Greg pretended to be shocked by the accusation instead.

"Who is who?"

"I mean, you've been going out every night this week when before you only left every two or three weeks, if at all, and every time you come back home you have a slight spring to your step. There can't really be any other explanation." Jack grinned even bigger and nudged his son while wiggling his brows.

"She's...just a friend," Greg said, thinking quickly.

"Oh, really?" Jack snickered. "Well, stay safe and no more going out on school nights."

Jack continued to snicker as they pulled into the driveway, where Greg practically threw himself out of the car and ran upstairs.

"Great, now I have to get a girlfriend just to get him off my back," Greg sighed after locking the door behind him.
