I awaken beside Phil, who is cuddling with me and smiling in his sleep.

Phil's so cute.  I pull out my phone and check my messages.

Phil: Hey, Dan, I probably won't be awake yet when you read this, but good morning. 💙💚

I text Phil back.

Me: Good morning. 🖤

A few minutes pass, and Phil's eyes flutter open. They fall on me and light up. He gives me a peck on the lips and sits up. "Hey," he says, stretching out his arms.

"Hey," I say sleepily. I rub my eyes and yawn.

Phil laughs warmly. "I can't believe that last night happened," he says.

"Believe it," I say, giving Phil a peck on the lips.

Phil smiles against my mouth. "You're smooth for a sub," he says, laughing.

"What?! I'm not a sub!"

Phil rolls his eyes. "And I'm not gay," he says, kissing me.

"I'm really not a sub," I insist between kisses.

"Oh yeah? Then prove it," Phil says, pinning me against the headboard.

I laugh as Phil leaves sloppy kisses down my neck. Phil joins my laughter and gets back under the duvet. "I just want to stay here all day," he says.

"Really? You don't want to make friends with the neighbors or attend a party? Where has this impromptu absence of energy come from?"

"Oh, trust me, I have plenty of energy," Phil says, kissing me. "I've been saving it for you." Phil deepens the kiss.

I laugh.  "Let's go downstairs and finish those cookies."

Phil and I take our seats at a lengthy table in The Cheesecake Factory.  Amelia, Lacie, Asha, and Imani are all here.

"What have you two been doing all weekend?," Asha asks Phil and me.

I choke on my lemon water.

"Watching scary movies and eating the best cookies ever," Phil responds, not missing a beat.

"Fun," Asha says.  "Imani and I have been playing with our nieces all weekend.  What have you been up to, Lacie and Amelia?"

Amelia blushes.  "Lacie took me to a fancy restaurant," she gushes.  "I love you," she says.

Lacie intertwines her fingers with Amelia's.  "I spoil you, but you deserve it," Lacie says, kissing Amelia's cheek.

"Thanks for reminding me of how lonely I am," Asha says sarcastically. "I wish I could find a guy who doesn't mind not having sex.  I love being a heteroromantic asexual."

"I have a girlfriend," Imani says.

"Well, this is news to me.  Who is she?," Asha asks.

"Nah, I'm just playing with ya.  How about you, Dan and Phil?"

Phil and I don't say anything.

"Are...are you guys together?," Asha asks.

Everybody at the table turns to look at Phil and me.
