Seven

I woke up and stretched, yawning a bit. It's Monday, December 17th. The first day of Winter break. We go back the day after New Years. I rubbed my belly, having some pain and I got my phone, checking my period tracker app. I froze, getting a notification that I'd missed my last two periods. I reached beside me in bed, grabbing Reginas hand. "Mm what's up?" She asked softly, barely awake. "Babe wake up. Please." I said softly and she sat up beside me. "What is it? You sound worried." She said and i nodded a little. "I missed my last two periods." I said and she hummed. "Oh.. okay.." she said and I swallowed thickly. "I.. what do we do?" I asked and she kissed my head. "We'll go get breakfast with Henry. Then we'll stop at the store and get some tests. Then we'll go from there." She said and i nodded. "If you are pregnant.. and you missed your last two periods.. that would mean you're probably about two months along.. so you would've gotten pregnant from our first time? Back in the middle of October?" She asked and i nodded. "Yeah." I said and she kissed my head. "Well lets get up to get ready. Wanna shower?" She asked and i nodded. We got up and went to the bathroom. She held me close as she started the hot water. "I like sleeping naked with you." I said and she smiled. "Me too baby." She said and i smiled softly as we got in the shower.

After breakfast, Regina drove to the store. "Mommy?" Henry asked and i hummed. "Yeah bud?" I asked and Regina smiled. "Can we watch a show together today?" He asked and I smiled. "Of course baby. We can do anything you want." I said and he hummed. He must be tired. He likes watching cartoons because they help him fall asleep. "Mommy?" He asked and this time I hummed. "Yeah?" I asked softly. "You stay with me and momma forever?" He asked and i blushed, my heart swelling. I love them so much. "Yes baby boy.." I said softly. He hummed again and Regina rubbed my thigh. I looked in the backseat at him and smiled seeing he was asleep. "Want me to just go in so you don't have to wake him back up?" I asked and she shook her head. "I'll go baby." She said and pecked my lips. I smiled and nodded a little. "Thank you." I said and she smiled. "Of course." She said and got out. I watched her go in the store and I rubbed my belly, smiling, thinking of a little baby growing in it.

After about ten minutes, Regina came back to the car. She smiled as she got in and I hummed. "Is it pathetic I missed you in those few minutes?" I asked and she smiled. "No darling. Not at all." She said and i smiled softly as I nodded.

I sat in the bathroom floor, leaning against the door as I held my knees to my chest, crying silently. Why am I so emotional over something that was never real? "Emma, darling, please open the door." Regina said, just loud enough that I could hear her through the locked door. But i didn't move. I couldn't. It's been an hour since I took the tests, and about two hours since we got home. Henry's still napping. "My love..." Regina said quietly and i sniffled as I wiped my eyes, carefully standing up to unlock the door. I stepped out of the bathroom. Regina immediately wrapped her arms around me and I broke in her tight embrace, sobbing uncontrollably against her chest. "I-I got so excited." I cried and she nodded. "I know baby. I did too." She said, kissing my head. I just cried. That's all I can do. She held me tight and I closed my eyes. All six of the tests were negative. It's depressing as hell. I want a baby with her so bad. "Come on. Why don't we nap?" She asked and i nodded. We moved over to the bed and got in. I immediately snuggled into her and closed my eyes. She started humming softly and it took me a minute to pick up on the song but I smiled a little, realizing it was Sara by Fleetwood Mac. I drifted off to sleep as she hummed.

When I woke up, Regina was playing in my hair. "What time is it?" I asked and she hummed. "Six pm. We can get up for dinner if you'd like." She said and i nodded. "I also made you a doctors appointment to see why you missed several periods. We go tomorrow at three. They had a cancellation." She said and i nodded. We got up and went to Henry's room. I smiled seeing he was playing with his cars. "Come on bud. Let's go downstairs to eat." Regina said and he got up, coming over to me and holding his arms up. I picked him up and he snuggled into me. I smiled and held him tight. Maybe he's the only one I need right now.
