Dear River,

Your name itself gives me the calm I used to feel whenever you were around me.

Your wavy blond hair, the skinny wrists, those shy eyes; they were the solace I needed in those days of stress. You came to me when I was inwardly alone.

I still bless Jason to have introduced his beautiful cousin to me at a completely random party. The moment I first saw you, even though you lived the other side of town, I knew I had to see you everyday.

Exams were coming close, but you had become my addiction. I had to have a dose of you if I wanted to sleep at night. I had to hold you close, I just had to kiss those lips, only if it was just a peck.

Amidst the cuddles and just breathing each other in for a few minutes everyday, I knew we never talked much about stuff. But we both knew that we really cared for each other. I know I never said it to you, but I loved you, River.

While postponing it to a tomorrow that never came, I should've just whispered it into your ear when you were still there in my arms.
