LANCE'S POV

On the 2nd of August 2015, 3 months after my father's death, my extended family and I sat for the reading of my father's will. My mother and her relatives didn't show up and I felt a bit, disappointed. My dad doesn't have a lot of relatives so in attendance were his two uncles his widowed sister and her two daughters and uncle Freddy my father's secretary. So far so good, we all listened attentively as my father's properties were divided amongst us,

"My estate in Lagos will be handed over to my sister Yvonne for her to manage, as for my supermarkets, the one in Port Harcourt will be handed to my uncle Marcus, and the other in Lagos will be handled by Uncle Lewis. And also the sum of 5million naira should be handed over to my maid Charity to sponsor her education at the university level," the Lawyer said then added, "And finally all of my remaining properties and businesses will be handed over to my only son Pri...."

"I don't go by that name anymore" I said cutting off the lawyer, "I officially changed it to Lance Frost all documents regarding my old name will answer to the new one."

"Umm, OK, fine." he said looking a bit flustered, then continued, "As I was saying, all of my remaining properties and businesses will be handed over to my only son Pri.... ah, em Lance Frost. Well that'll be all! Any questions?"

We all looked at each other then I raised my hand.

"Yes?" asked the lawyer.

"My father's remaining business is his restaurant right?" I asked

"Yes," he answered then asked, "Why did you ask?"

"Well don't you think I'm too young to manage a big restaurant as that? I mean am only 15"

"Hmm, well I don't know that's just what the will says. Unless you want to hand it over to someone else"

"I can't just hand it over. I'll like to keep someone in charge of it until I'm ready to take over"

"That's a good idea! Who do you have in mind?"

"I would like Mr. Freddy Richman, my father's secretary to handle it until I'm ready" I said, "Unless he doesn't want to"

Heads turned towards uncle Freddy. He was taken aback by my statement but he replied steadily, "It would be my honor sir"

I smiled and looked at the lawyer.

"Well," he said, "Mr. Richman would be the temporary owner of the restaurant until you are ready to take over."

With that said, the meeting was drawn to a close and my family members started leaving except Aunt Yvonne and her two daughters Trisha and Mirabel. They wanted to keep me company which was nice but I wanted to be left alone.

Around 7pm that night Aunt Yvonne decided that it was time for them to leave.

"Mom can I sleep over? Please!" Trisha pleaded. She is 16 years old and the oldest amongst my cousins. I don't really like her because she can be a bit 'freaky' sometimes.

"I don't know" said Aunt Yvonne, then turned to Mirabel "what do you think?"

"No way. Am not staying here" said Mirabel.

"Well?" said Yvonne facing me,

"She can stay its fine with me" I replied. 'It's just one night nothing's going to happen right?'

"Ok then. Trisha, you can stay but behave" said Yvonne.

"Oh, I will" she said in sly-ish way.

"I'll be back by 9 am tomorrow to pick you up okay?"
