"Father? Are you quite sure this man and I will be compatible?" Y/N asked once more as they walked towards the door of a large plantation home.

George just laughed and said, "Sweetheart I would never let you meet with a man I don't think you would be compatible with." Y/N nodded and fixed the large flowered crown tied into her H/C locks.

George knocked onto the large wooden door. There were various noises from the inside until a woman unlocked the door. She stood with the door opened and lightly dipped her head in respect. Y/N did the same to the young woman. Who's eyes widened in response.

She hastily spoke, "Mr. and Ms. Washington! Please follow me Mr. Jefferson has been waitin' fer you." Her southern accent broke through as she guided us to the large dining room. Filled with various expensive dishes and furniture pieces. Y/N walked over to a curio cabinet and touched the glass keeping her away from the beautiful and expensive crystal dishes inside.

"Mr. Washington! Always a pleasure sir!"

A very southern voice broke through Y/N's observation as she turned to man in a magenta suit at the other end of the dining room table.

George nodded and smiled back. "Same goes for me. Please Mister Jefferson meet my daughter Y/N. Y/N! Come over to meet Jefferson," George ordered as Y/N obediently walked over to were her father was.

Jefferson walked over to the Father Daughter pair. He took Y/N's hand and kissed the top of it lightly. "Well darlin' it's a pleasure to meet you. Your father has told me such wonderful things about his beautiful daughter. Always bragging on how handsome she was. My dear you are much more beautiful than I could have ever dreamed of," Jefferson said.

Y/N felt her heart flutter in her chest. "Mr. Jefferson I'm so flattered you believe I'm very handsome, but I shouldn't say anything Father has told me much about you. I believe him now when he said you liked very showy things," Y/N said as she looked around the dining room noticing all the small [birthstone] in the large chandelier above the dining table.

Jefferson laughed good heartedly, "Well, when you have all the things in the world and not a soul to share it with. It gets quite hard to show it off unless I have guests." Y/N nodded in agreement as Washington coughed to gain the attention of the two younger people.

"Please Mr. Jefferson... let's eat and discuss with small talk as we eat," George said as both Y/N and Thomas nodded.

"Mr. Washington"

The southern accented voice broke through the silence that had now settled at the table after Jefferson had asked 'What was your favorite material of cloth' Y/N didn't see any problem with the question, but George shut down the conversation and would bed it back down at any more attempts of small talk.

George coughed a little as he looked over at Thomas. "Yes, Jefferson?"

Y/N sat quietly, every now and then dabbing her face with a napkin. Trying to listen to the conversation and not interrupt either her father or Jefferson.

"Well, Mr. Washington I think I must say your daughter is a beauty and such a great conversationalist. I really appeal to her and I was wondering if I could maybe write to her," Jefferson said having set down his spoon. Requesting that 'Sally', the young women who opened the door for you, to take his bowl away.

Y/N looked stunned for a moment before looking at her father with pleading eyes. Knowing it would be inappropriate to beg him to say yes to the request.

George straightened his shirt out and looked at Jefferson. "Well, I do want my daughter to get married soon. You seem like a good candidate for the girl. She seems so really like you. I presume you may write to my daughter."

Y/N's eyes lit up and she looked at her father happily. "Thank you Father, I really do like him. I very much appreciate that you agreed to let him write with me," Y/N happily responded.

Jefferson nodded and said, "Well, this has been fun. Mr. Washington, Y/N I appreciate you coming out to my humble abode. Ms. Hemmings will show you to the coat room and to the door."

George nodded and signaled for Y/N to get up from the table. Y/N quickly stood up. Thomas stood as well and kissed Y/N's hand once again whispering, "You can call me Thomas, darlin." The whisper sent chills down Y/N spine, but she nodded as Sally led Y/N and her Father to the door.

Just as the pair stepped out of the door and into the cold outdoors, Y/N hugged her father. Who lightly hugged her back. "Thank you Father! I won't let you down. I'll get married and have lots of grandchildren for Mom," Y/N proudly said.

George just laughed as the two stepped into the now arriving carriage.
