Unconditional

Chapter 1

My name is Aeryn and this is my story about a not so perfect relationship. I mean, it started out fine and all. It was really nice. But nice things don't tend to last.

My alarm on my phone goes off and I check the time. I groaned and got up and out of bed, doing all my weird stretches. Then I sit down on the ground and contemplate my life, like, do I really need to go to school? Do I need an education at six in the morning??? Yes. So I got off the ground and went straight to the bathroom to do my thing. I basically got ready for school.

"Phone? Check. Bag? Check. Pencils? Check, check, check. All I'm missing is..." I looked around and spotted my coke on the table, "The thing that keeps me awake." I walked out the door with a coke bottle and went to wait on my bus. I don't drink coffee and none of the cups were clean enough for hot tea. I was lazy and didn't want to wash any. Also, Cola is good.

So I get on the bus and walk all the way to the back and sit in the seat that's like half a seat and can only fit one person. I put my headphones in and listen to music for the half hour it takes to drive to the school. Once we actually got to the school? We have to sit on the bus for another ten minutes. I am not quiet sure why but it's just a thing we have to do. Once the bell rang for the buses, I got off and went straight to the cafeteria. I sat down at a table in the corner and waited on my friends. Most of them are lower classmen who just hang around us because we are older. I am normally a quiet person so I don't really talk to any of the lower classmen. Plus, I think anyone younger than me is annoying. You don't have to be doing anything and I will get annoyed. I am just so easily annoyed too. Sometimes my friends think its funny to actually make me annoyed cause I start cursing then get sent to discipline. It's almost a daily routine. But I want to graduate without a contract so I goody two shoes my way out of it. Works every time.

I can't say anything interesting really happened today. The highlight of my day so far?? There was a new kid in class today. His name started with a X? I don't know how to pronounce it and sure as hell don't wanna try right now.

~Time Skip to Lunch~

I quickly sit down at lunch. It's always a race to get the best seat at lunch. My friends and I all sit at a round table, and the best round table at that. It's in a corner by the door. We aren't allowed on our phones here but, our table? It's right in the blind spot. I would say it's a pretty good table. The people who sit there are great. They're all boys, I can't say I have many girl friends, guys are just easier to get along with. But that's just my opinion.

I was sitting at the table drawing when one of my friends walks over with a familiar face. He waves at us shyly.

"Guys, this is Xios and he is going to be sitting with us. You can sit next to Aeryn, Xi." Joey pointed at me and I obviously wasn't going to pay attention. I don't like new people. But I get nudged by Christian and let out a long and loud sigh. I turn around and look at him, I wave then turn back around.

"Don't worry dude, she isn't actually a bitch. She just comes off as one", Joey made the rude remark and everyone just laughed. Which is fine because without looking, I picked my pencil and flicked it at him. Hitting him straight in the forehead which made everyone else laugh, including Xios. Which made me smile a bit.

"Ah! What was that for you stupid bitch?!" Joey rubs his forehead and chucks the pencil back at me.

"Really Joey? Do I need to upgrade it to a pen? Or a paintbrush? Stop acting like an idiot for ten damn seconds and maybe I wouldn't throw stupid shit at you for acting like a stupid shit."

Xios sits there and laughs with Christian and Caleb while Joey and I throw things at each other.

[Ch] "So Xios, what do you think of the school so far?"

I stop for a second because Joey had to get up to go get a drink from the vending machine, "Oh, that's right. You are new. He's in like all my classes so far."

[Xi] "Uhm, the teachers are nice so far."

"Well you are new, they are all nice when there's a new kid."

[Ca] "Dude seriously? Will you stop being such a downer Aeryn?"

"Hey! I am just being realistic. I don't care how you feel about it, I am just telling the truth and if you don't like it then suck it the fuck up!"

[Xi] "Uhm, g-guys"

Caleb looks at me and stands up, "What did you just say?! Do you wanna go bitch!"

"Come at me loser!" I couldn't say this without smiling, "Let's take it outside!"

We all run outside and Xios is a little lost. Joey comes back and pats him on the shoulder smiling, "Hey? Don't worry about it Xios. None of us have class after lunch and since you have the same schedule as Zhaen? You don't either. We always go to the practice field when we are done eating. So they are outside right now, probably acting dumb. Come on, I will show you."

Xios just nods and follows Joey outside. He looks around and sees Christian and someone else. He hasn't said anything since Xios showed up. Joey looked where Xios was looking and smiles, "Oh hey. That's Fluffy. His name is also Christian but we just call him Fluffy. We have one more member, Josh, but he isn't here right now. Which is good, because him and Aeryn don't exactly get along very well."

Joey looked around and saw Christian. He motioned for Xios to follow and they did. Joey taps Chris's shoulder out of confusion and Chris said, "They had a play fight for like two minutes before Aeryn accidentally got kneed in the face. I think she's done crying but dude, it was like, really bloody. I think her nose was bleeding. I think they are in the bathroom in the weight room."

"I will go check on her, stay here with Xios." Joey points to Xios and Chris nods. Joey runs off towards the weight room.

He knocks on the door and Caleb yells, "Come in" and Joey does. He looks over and sees Caleb sitting on the ground. He was holding me in his arms and looks up at Joey.

"I stopped the bleeding. It was bad. And it wasn't her nose, it was her mouth. She bit her tongue when I accidentally kneed her but it stopped bleeding. I will take her to the hospital. I just thought I would calm her down a bit before taking her. You know?"

Joey nods and sits in front of Caleb, "So she's asleep now huh? She does have a bad habit of sleeping after crying, but in this case? It should be fine. If she's sleeping, she isn't crying. She might be hurting still so I think the hospital is a good idea. Wanna bail? We can skip school for now."

Caleb nods and picks me up. I sleep in his arms as he walks out to the practice field. Chris and Xios looked worried when they looked over at me.

[Ch] "Is she ok? How is her nose?"

[Jo] "She bit her tongue man, it wasn't her nose." Chris winced at hearing that and made a hissing sound through his teeth, thinking that must've hurt. "Yeah, so we are ditching the rest of the day. If you guys would like to come with us? I figured Fluffy must be gone. Caleb is ditching to take her to the ER, I am going with. Chris, take Xios back to our house and we will all meet you back there."

Chris nodded and dragged Xios out after asking if he wanted to skip. Xios shrugged and they left.

Caleb and Joey drove to the ER.

And now they wait.
