Chapter 10

It's been a few days since I ran into that Sally Face guy. He was nice and all but I had to go meet up with my friends after that day. We exchanged numbers and went our separate ways. Before we did, I took a picture with him then went to see my friends.

I walked into the boys' house and was greeted by Xios and Joey. They hugged me and smiled. Joey couldn't shut up about the party and I rolled my eyes. I asked Xios if he wanted to go on a walk and he agreed.

"So, Joey said you went to a party a few days ago? I never took you for the party type. How was it?"

"I did go with him that night but I am not the party type. I actually left after that. I-" I decided not to tell him about Sal since I knew I was going to be bombarded with questions, "I went to my safe place after that. And yeah. I just needed some time to myself."

"Yeah? Is three days enough time? After what happened the other day, I felt terrible. The boys and I all agreed to go out tonight. If you wanted to come along that is?"

"Tonight? I would love to. I don't have anything to do tonight. So it will be nice. Where are we going?"

"No clue. Joey said he was going to drive out. Caleb isn't coming, have you talked to him?"

I shook my head. Through out the three days I had to myself? Caleb hadn't called or texted me. I tried messaging him but he hasn't read them. I tried calling but he wouldn't pick up either.

"He must be busy." Which I knew wasn't true. He was probably ignoring me after what happened. It's petty of him to do that, we should've just talked it out. But he always thinks it's better for me to sit by myself for a bit. But he hasn't left me alone for three days. "I just hope he's alright. Ya know? He can be reckless sometimes."

Xios nodded. He doesn't know why she is being like that. He knows plenty of people who care about everyone, but after what he's seen these past few days? He thinks that Aeryn shouldn't give two shits about that Caleb guy. He was actually getting a little pissed that Caleb was acting like this.

"Yeah? I don't think I know anyone who can be too busy for their girlfriend. At least tell her you are busy. It prevents certain feelings or misunderstandings ya know?"

"I wish I did, it must be nice to know that hum?"

Xios could see Aeryn smile but he knew that she wasn't happy. It ticked him off that Caleb wouldn't at least text her. He didn't have to physically talk to her, just text her so she doesn't worry.

"Well, I bought ice cream yesterday for you, but Jo said you were out. So I put it in the freezer. I got ice cream sandwiches, those chocolate vanilla bar things, and just cookies n cream ice cream you scoop. I like those three and can't think of anyone who doesn't like those. So I bought them. Wanna go back and eat till we either throw up or the boys try to take them from us?"

I laughed and then grabbed my side. I was laughing so hard that my side started to hurt. I nodded and Xios laughs as well.

"That sounds nice. Let's go." We turn around and I limp back. Xios looked around and a bit confused.

"Hey, Aeryn? Where did your cane go? Didn't you get one last night?"

"Oh, yeah. It's in my bag at the house." I had forgotten I put it there. I didn't want my new friend to walk alone so when we walked back to my place? I put it in my bag so we could limp and laugh together. It was the best night ever. He seemed like a pretty cool dude. He asked a lot of questions and was a little too accepting. But that was cute of him. Such a cute blue dude. He was like a muffin. Adorable.

I giggled and smiled. Earning me a weirded out and confused look from Xios.

"What's so funny?"

"Hm? Nothing. I just saw something at the party the other night. It was nice."

Xios just smiled. Can't believe he bought that. It wasn't really any of his business, what I was laughing about. But it's ok. What he doesn't know won't kill him.
