It's Thursday now, I didn't go to school. I wanted to stay home because I just wanted to I guess. One of the guys had to stay home, it couldn't be Xios or Caleb. So I stopped moping and wrapped my arms and threw on a sweater. It's December and I am always cold. Even in the summer, so this was no surprise. I 'walked' out of my room and down the stairs."Hungry." I walked around the downstairs and saw no one was around. Whoever was home, they weren't awake yet. So I went into the pantry and grabbed a bag of chips. I wanted food but not real food. You know?
"That's not healthy Aeryn." I turned around and smiled, it was Joey. He walked over to me and gave me a big hug.
"I don't care if it's healthy. I wanted something to eat."
"Eat a poptart."
"I didn't even know we had any. Are there any oreo ones in there?"
"Nope, just strawberry."
I whine and look over at him, "Can't we just go out to eat something? I just want something sweet. If I eat 'healthy', I want a fruit. Like a pineapple or, what is it, it's a soft fruit. It's really juicy too. Damn! I don't remember what it's called but it's really good."
Joey just laughed and grabbed his car keys. We walk to the door and he opens it for me. I walk out and wait for him and we walk to the car together.
"Where to than?"
"I don't know. I changed my mind, let's just go out. Go wander around a Mal-Wart or something."
Joey didn't care really. He just wanted to get out of that house. It was too quiet for him. Which is why he was glad he lived with his friends, really.
"Let's get going than." And like that, they were driving down to the Mal-Wart around the corner.
"So what were you guys talking about last night?"
"What do you mean? We didn't talk about anything really."
Ah, so they don't care about what Xios and I talked about...Wait, why do I care. I don't. Stop it Aeryn.
I smiled and shrugged, "What a bunch of boring boys. It was so quiet down stairs I thought you all started making out."
"Totally, just had a big orgy. Had such a bad time containing ourselves. Didn't wanna wake the princess up."
Joey laughed and I rolled my eyes. "Princess? Pfft, more like a dragon."
"Ah, come on. Don't beat yourself up Aeryn, you can be anyone's princess you know?"
I nodded and smiled. "Right, and what type of princess would you be into Joey?"
"Why? Wanna try out some Joey-Oh's?"
"Oh god, please. No way, especially after Joey-Oh's. But, come on, I am serious. I could never figure your type out."
"That's probably good, because no princess is my type. Now a prince? Damn, why not?"
"Oh shit! I forgot you were gay." Joey and I laugh. We pulled into the Mal-Wart parking lot and looked at each other.
"So are you interested in a prince or a dragon? Also, would I be a dragoness or a dragon?"
"I didn't even know there was such a thing as a dragoness. But I would guess that would be you. Being a female and all."
"Gender assumption. Fer shame."
"I mean, if you wanna be a dragon? I am more than happy to hook up with you. Aeryn is a boy name after all."
It was quiet for a few seconds then we both burst out into laughter. I laughed so hard, my stitches almost came undone.
"Ok, sir, let's get going. You are going to make me bleed if we stay in here any longer."
