The late nights in the heart of New York were the prime time for criminal activity. And the two young teenagers, both set out for some sort of entertainment in their unusually boring lives, were set on catching some idiotic people trying to rob a bank with a water gun.

Rowan Stark, clad in all black, blends in with her surroundings well. She walks down the puzzling empty streets, a blast of humid air blowing her hair past her sticky neck and down her exposed back. The girl lets out a breath, her eyes remaining sharp for any sign of a break in or gunshots. But little did she know, as a satisfied smirk tugs at her lips at the sight of four goons breaking into an ATM, she had a shadow; one that didn't seem to recognize her either.

"Can't wait to see this thing, guys." The robber states happily, completely unaware of the two superheroes following them.

"Finally, something good." Murmurs Rowan, gingerly taking cover behind a pillar.

"Yo, this high-tech stuff makes it too easy." The thief declares as they melted a hole through the ATM's glass with their weird glowing stick.

"Told you it was worth it.

One guy, glancing around briefly, pushes his friends forward, "okay. Go, go, go."

During the commotion, Rowan takes this time to try and catch the criminals blindly. But, before she could make her way from the hiding spot, she gets pulled back instantly. Gasping, she nails her intruder in the jaw with her elbow, ready to fry his brain with her powers before the boy yelps,
"Hey, it's just me!"

"Parker?!" Cries Rowan, snatching her arm from his grip, "What the hell are you doing here?"

"I could uh- ask you the same. You're kinda far from home." The boy replies, his voice hesitant.

"I'm trying to save this poor owner from a million dollar debt. Which I was going to do before I was assaulted, thank you very much by the way." She growls, her dark browns narrowed.

"Hey! So was I! We can tag team on it! You know, like those WWE wrestlers do?" Peter offers enthusiastically.

The brunette scoffs, pushing herself from the pillar, "I'm already throwing up in my mouth just talking to you... let alone fight alongside with you. So please, Spider, let me do my thing and go home... I'm sure it's past your bedtime."

"Okay. First off... ouch. Second, there are four strong, armed men in there. Not trying to doubt you or anything, but... I think you'll need the help." Peter stresses, stepping in front of her protectively.

"I don't need your help... or anyone's for that matter." She brushes past him, her stature strong and firm as she blatantly ignores the boy's pleas and steps through the melted glass. The girl clears her throat, catching the attention of the four masked men,
"What's up, guys? You forget your PIN number?"

Peter then steps through, standing beside his love interest with a gasp, "Whoa! You're the Avengers. What are you guys doing here?" The boy webs one guy and smashes his head into the other, "Thor. Hulk. Good to finally meet you guys." He kicks faux-Thor into the wall, "I thought you'd be more handsome in person. Iron Man. Hey, what are you doing robbing a bank? You're a billionaire."

Suddenly, as the boy lunges for the mock Captain America, the man uses his futuristic weapon to restrict his movements, "Hey! Oh, this feels so weird." He's then being thrown up and down like a rag doll, "What is that thing? I'm starting... to think...you're not...the Avengers!"

The man with the blue weapon then tries to go for Rowan, but she quickly knocks the man out with a shelf, sending him and the weapon flying forward. Money is flying everywhere, the girl and Peter quickly recover and start to try and put and end to this undercover robbery. She uses her purple hue to shoot down the men, using her flexibility to maneuver around them with flips and somersaults that could only be seen in the Olympics. Peter continues to shoot his webs, binding their hands and weapons down with ease.
"Alright guys, let's wrap this up. It's a school night." He send one criminal to the ground, another to the wall as he webs his weapon to the glass, "So, how do jerks like you get tech like this?" Distracted by trying to remove the identity of the fake Tony Stark, Peter fails to notice the man on the ground ready to blow his face off with a gamma ray cannon.

"Peter!" Rowan shouts, reacting quickly as she pushes him away from the blast, the duo landing hard on the ground with a grunt. "You idiot, you could've gotten yourself killed!"

"Never mind that. Mr. Delmar's store!" The boy cries, hopping to his feet and taking off in the direction of the convenient store that had been up in flames in a mere second.

"Shit." Rowan breaths, "someone's in there! I have to get him!"

"What? Are you crazy?! You'll hurt yourself!" The boy cries, concern evident in his tone.

"Oh spare me the whole 'I don't want you hurt' bullshit. You and I both know it's not true." She sighs, training her gaze back on the burning building, "now, call the fire department, I'll make sure everything's okay."

"No, I'm not gonna let you hurt yourself!" Shouts Spider-Man, gripping her hand, "just please, we'll go in together."

With pursed lips and an annoyed gaze, she huffs, "whatever. Let's go before the building collapses."
Peter smiles, appreciating the slight acceptance he'd received before the duo make their way into the blazing store. They search for the owner, Peter's long time friend, and after almost earning nasty third degree burns from the falling pillar, the two emerge from the deadly space with the tattered man alive.

"You alright?" The boy asks, scanning the petite brunette for any signs of gashes or burn marks. Aside from the slight knick above her left brow, where Peter completely freaked out about, they were both relatively fine.

"I'm fine." She hisses, retracting her arm from his hold. "Next time you decide to piss off a group of faux superheroes with high tech space weapons, count me out."

"Rowan, I'm sorry-"

"Just... stop talking-" she sighs, glancing at her phone before grimacing, "my dad's probably shitting his pants right now. I've got to go before he grounds me until I'm fifty."

"No, wait-"

But no amount of begging could get her to stay. She begins to take off, but not before she glances back at the boy; their eyes met momentarily, a second of pure connection, before she let her dark orbs retreat to the ground in the usual unreadable expression. As the distant sirens grew louder, and the sound of Rowan's car zooms off, Peter couldn't help but feel like a part of him had left with the girl. In those few minutes of fighting side by side, once again, he felt that same frustrating connection; like he was made to be kicking criminal ass alongside this girl. He just didn't know how to get to her, yet. Peter had screwed up too badly to be able to fix this within a day. So as he retreats into the night sky, swinging effortlessly from building to building, he knew that he would do whatever it takes to win her back. He'd make Rowan Stark his.
