The Forgotten Knight (Awaiting Rewrite)

A Missing Arc

Ruby and Oscar Pines were setting up for a birthday that of course was for their daughter, Summer Pines.

Everyone was coming, and it was going to be a great day! Its been nine years since they all defeated Salem and they had all set it up.

Yang was coming by with her son Jason, who was 9. Blake and Sun were coming with the twins, Adam and Bella, both were 5. Weiss and Neptune were coming with Perseus, who was the same age as Jason. Ren and Nora were also coming by with Li and Thora. Hell, even Emerald and Mercury were going to stop by with Sapphire and Coal. The only ones who weren't going to show up were Jaune, Penny, Neo, and Cinder. No one's heard from Cinder and Neo for quite some time, sure they had allowed Cinder to escape all those years ago, but it was for a good cause. Penny was working with Winter back in Atlas for the upcoming Vytal Festival and said she wanted to come but, duty calls of course. And Jaune... well, no one had heard from him since Yang and he had broken up, he just kinda disappeared.

Ruby thinking about all of this and was just putting the balloons up when the doorbell rang.

"honey, could you get it?" Ruby asked Oscar from the other room

"yeah!" He replied

Oscar walked down the stairs and headed to the front door, and once he opened the door, he was met with the faces of his sister in law and his nephew, Yang and Jason.

"hey, Pine tree!" Yang said.

Yang had indeed changed with the years, she was still very outgoing, but she was very much like summer when it came to kids. Her hair was shorter, up to her shoulders, this was because of a certain kid who was playing with fire dust outside of school.

"hello Uncle Oscar!" Jason said as they walked in.

Jason was light Blonde boy, his eyes were a dark shade of purple. He wore black boots, with blue ripped jeans, and he had a white shirt with two golden dragons crawling up the sides of the shirt, and he wore a Punkin Petes lettermen Jacket, which he is very proud of because he saved over a thousand box-tops for the jacket.

Ruby came out of the living room and looked to see Yang and Jason, "Yang! Jason!" Ruby cried hugging the two, "look how big you've grown Jason! You look so big and strong!" Ruby said

Jason smiled "thanks, Aunt Ruby!" Jason said hugging her back

"Summers in the back, why don't you go play with her" Ruby said

he nodded with glee and headed to the back. Ruby looked at Jason then back at Yang,

"he looks just like his Dad" Yang said softly

Ruby sighed and looked to her sister "don't bring up that guy... he left you and Jason, Yang, don't remember him fondly" Ruby said

Yang looked down, "There's something I need to tell you Rubes"

Ruby looked at her with confusion

"Jason takes after his father, likes to fight with a sword, brave, selfless... Jason's not a Xiao-Long..." Yang said

Ruby looked to her with an almost shocked look, but confusion was still present, "Yang where are you going with-?"

"Jason's an Arc..." Yang said with a bit of sadness

Ruby looked at her sister with shock, "oh my god!" Ruby cried "J-Jaune is Jasons father!?" Ruby cried

Yang nodded, "Rubes... I left when I found out I was pregnant with Jason... Jaune doesn't even know he exists..." Yang told her sister

"Yang! Why!? Do you know how much Jaune is going to flip!? Jason is 9 years old! 9!" Ruby cried

then Oscar walked in after hearing his wife screaming "what's going on?" Oscar asked with a bit of worry,

"Jason is Jaune's son!" Ruby told Oscar, and Oscar gasped,

"ruby... Have you heard anything from Jaune?" Yang asked

Ruby thought and looked back, "no...No nothing at all, I haven't heard from him at all...Not since..." And Ruby's face turned to a horrified expression, "not since you left him!" Ruby cried,

Yang and Oscar were scared to,

"let's talk about this after the party please, Right now we need to focus on the kids," Oscar told the two and they nodded. Where was the blonde heads knight?

In a snowy part of Atlas in unknown territory, there is a cabin. A Blonde knight had just killed a pack Beowulf's and was heading inside, there was a fire and a Baby in a Crib looking at her father as he walked in

"papa," it said as it jingles toy keys,

The blonde Knight smiled at the baby and put his sword and shield away and took off his black tattered cloak, and his remaining armor,

"Hello my little sunshine," he said picking up the baby and holding it close,

"Mama!" It said and pointed to the couch, which was covered in blood...

Jaune looked to the baby and smiled bit tears fell from his face

"mamas, gone out for a bit, don't worry...She'll come back...She'll come back... Mama loves you...Ember"
