Change of Heart

Jaune and Jason, along with team FNKI were finally at the mountain where Both Watts and Tyrian were spotted by Atlas drones.

"So what's the plan?" Jaune asked Flynt

"The plan right now is that my team goes in, Idriess is gonna shut down Watt's system and trapping the two in there, making their only way of escape is the way we go in and right now we're heading to their now, then we'll try and capture them. However, if they escape, I want you to be right their Jaune" Flynt replied

"Got it, and I'll make sure Jason stays a good distance away from those guys," Jaune told him

"Jaune, there's also something I wanna know," Flynt told him

"what is it?" Jaune asked

Flynt looked to him and then looked to Jason, "Jason has his aura unlocked right?" Flynt asked

Jaune nodded. Flynt sighed in relief, he wanted to make sure Jason was safe just in case he gets attacked by Watts, or worse, Tyrian.

"Flynt, another thing we should worry about is Watts bypassing Idriess's programs, Watts was one of the smartest people in Atlas, don't forget what happened back then," Jaune told Flynt

Flynt nodded as he too remembered all the destruction Watts, Tyrian, and Salem did to Atlas. Ever since that day, Atlas had been safely on the ground. but there was still conflict between people there, and people didn't forgive Ironwood completely for how he handled the situation.

"Don't worry, That bastard won't be leaving here alive for what he's done" Flynt replied "He's desperate and the tech he's been using dates all the way back from when we were kids" Flynt replied

Jaune nodded and the group continued venturing up the Mountain and to the base where Watts was located. Jaune was ready, and If he was lucky, Tyrian would be there too. Jaune was close to avenging Cinder. Jaune was going to avenge her no matter what. He looked at Jason and smiled, He also needed to be careful and get his emotions in check because if he messed up, Jason could get hurt or much worse. Jaune wasn't going to let that happen. No one else that he cared for was going to die today. He was going to make sure of that.

Meanwhile, Team RWBY, Ren, and Emerald arrived at Griffen. Their first stop was a local Inn so they could settle down for the night and rest.

"Think we'll find Jaune here?" Ruby asked

"If not, he'll be ahead of us again, but there's only a couple of place he could've gone to" Weiss stated

"Like where?" Emerald asked

"well if he kept going east, then there's Fort Kaplin an abandoned Atlas Military base in the mountains, and to the south is another town called Freya and to the North is a Mistral Military base" Weiss replied

"I think Fort Kaplin would be our best bet," Blake said "if it's an abandoned Atlas Military Base it might have some tech that Watts could use to his advantage" Blake finished

"Right, if we know him he'll need some sort of tech to fight" Weiss agreed

"But let's search here first, if we find nothing then we'll know where Jaune's next stop is" Ruby said "alright let's split up and look"

"I'll head to the local police station with Ren," Blake said

"I'll help look for Jaune with Blondie" Emerald said

"I and Ruby will check any local bars to see if they've seen Jaune as well," Weiss said

they split up and Emerald walked with Yang. As soon as they left and began heading to the first local bar, Yang glanced at Emerald, and Emerald glanced back at her. Emerald knew what the girl was thinking,

"what is it, Yang?" Emerald asked

"I just wanted to ask you how... how are you know handling Cinder's death?" Yang asked

Emerald sighed, "I'm doing fine Yang, I knew that it might happen eventually..." Emerald replied,

"but what about her daughter... how do you feel about Ember?" Yang asked

Emerald didn't answer that, she was thinking about that. It was hard to figure out how she felt about Ember, she was Cinder's kid, yeah, but she remembered how cinder use to be, and wondered if Ember would end up the same.

"Cinder was once obsessed with power... that all that mattered to her, I learned that the hard way when she left me and Merc for dead. I thought she would never change... but when I saw Ember I realized that she had changed, for the better" Emerald replied "If she could have a kid with Jaune and Love that child to no end... then I think that she had changed"

Yang nodded at her answer. She too had thought the same thing, but after seeing Ember, Yang had a change of heart, sure she could never forgive cinder for her past, but she managed to change the future in a huge way. She was the Fall Maiden, after all, one of the most powerful Maidens next to Penny and Arslan.

"I hope we find Jaune, Ember needs him" Yang replied

Emerald nodded, "Agreed"

Emerald had remembered how Ember looked so much like Cinder, but she could tell, that on the inside, Ember was gonna be like her father. She just had that gut feeling, and that made Emerald smile. Emerald would make sure to train Ember herself, she wanted Cinder to know that her old... friends didn't completely hate her.
