(Here Dan isn't married and doesn't have kids)

You climb out of the Uber. You're back at the band house from a vacation. You can't wait to see Dan, Wayne, Ben and Plaz, especially Dan. He has been very important person to you for a few years now. You promised to yourself that you'll never fall for him, even though he's single. You were unsuccessful. You fell for him. You couldn't help it and now you feel guilty.

You just think he doesn't feel the same way. He never has said anything or act like he could like you that way. Of course he loves you, but as a best friend. You are not nothing more than a best friend to him.

You take your luggages and walk to the front door. You take your key from your purse and open the door. You can hear the boys talking in the kitchen as you step inside and close the door behind you. “I'm back!” You yell and they stopped talking and soon you could see Ben peeking from the kitchen. He smiles widely as he realizes it was you. Then also Wayne and Plaz came up to you with Ben and they gave you a big hug.

“I missed you guys so much.” You say and you pull away. “We did, too.” They say in unison, smiling. You look around but don't see Dan anywhere. “Where's Dan?” You ask.

They know about your feelings for Dan. They promised they won't tell him, though, if you don't want them to tell. If you tell him about your feelings it could be the end of your friendship and that was the least thing you want to happen.

“Well, uhm, in his room, I guess.” Ben responds, rubbing under his jaw. You nod and pick up your luggages. “I take these to my room and come back to you guys.” you say and turn to the stairs. You go upstairs and along the hallway towards your room. You saw Dan's door to his room was open. When you peeked inside you saw that he wasn't alone. He was on his bed with a girl and they were making out.

It was like someone has just punched you hard in the stomach. Your heart started to race and your eyes filled with tears. You quickly run to your room, slamming the door shut. It felt like someone was ripping your heart out of your chest. You collapsed on your knees and started crying, a lot.

Your tears and heartbreak blurred your vision, but also your mind. You started to search something sharp with your eyes. As your eyes landed on sharpener, you took the metal part out of it and placed it on your wrist. It goes through your skin and you do one, pretty long cut. Then another. You didn't have time to do third one because Plaz ran into your room and saw what you were doing. “Y/N! What the fuck, stop!” He yells and takes the sharpener out of your hand. You can feel the warm blood on your wrist. The others ran inside, even Dan. You just wanted to escape, run away, and that was just what you did.

You pushed through all of them and ran to downstairs, and out of the house. You kept running till you found yourself from a river. You sat on the edge and dipped your legs into the running water.

Nature somehow always manage to calm you down, but it can't heal your wounds, it can't put your shattered heart back together.

You just sat there, only God knows how long. You remember one song from the album Night Visions, called Bleeding Out. So you start to sing it. You really love it, you always have.

“I'm bleeding out, said if the last thing that I do. Is to bring you down. I'll bleed out for you. So I bear my skin and I count my sins and I close my eyes and I take it in and I'm bleeding out. I'm bleeding out for you.” You sing quietly as the wind plays with your hair calmly, making it wave. It's so calm, peaceful. Tears start running from your eyes and you just cry. You left your phone home, so no one can contact you or find you, which felt good.

“When the day has come, but I've lost my way around and the seasons stop and hide beneath the ground. When the sky turns gray and everything is screaming. I will reach inside,
Just to find my heart is beating.” You continue singing. The song is just perfect to this moment. Like if Dan has went through this same thing. Has he?

“You tell me to hold on. Oh you tell me to hold on, but innocence is gone and what was right is wrong.” You continue. You put so much emotion to this song, you're singing. It pours from your heart.

“'Cause I'm bleeding out. Said if the last thing that I do, is to bring you down. I'll bleed out for you.
So I bear my skin and I count my sins and I close my eyes and I take it in, and I'm bleeding out. I'm bleeding out for you.” Voice continues. It isn't yours.

You turn around quickly and see Dan. He's looking at you right in the eyes as he sits down next to you and grabs your hand. “For you.” He finishes and kisses your knuckles. You pull your hand away quickly. “What are you doing here? You should be with your girlfriend!” You say and turn to look at the river, and tears are sliding down your cheeks.

“Hold on a second… is this all because of her?” He asks and you give him a simple nod. “I– I'm sorry, I, I don't know what to say… um, do you have feelings... For me?” he asks. So many different emotions washes over him. He looks either happy or sad. Surprised or not surprised. Actually he looks flabbergasted.

“Yes. I realized it about few weeks ago.” You respond, still looking at the running water around your feet.

He gives you a nod and takes a deep breath before he says, “Actually, she's not my girlfriend. We just met. In a bar. Things got pretty heated. I'm sorry.”

“Why are you apologising? You can decide who you are with.” You say, turning to look at him. He wipes his face under his nose. “Look, Y/N. I have feelings for you, too.” He says, looking down first and then your eyes. He gives you a side smile as he saw the surprised look on your face. “You, what?!” Your eyes widens and you wrap your arms around his neck and give him a hug. He chuckles a little bit and hugs you back. “Yeah, um, I'm still so so sorry. And your wrist…” he says and grabs your wrist gently, looking at the cuts. “They're not bad.” Your gaze drops and you look down. He lets go of your wrist and lifts up your chin. In just seconds you feel his soft lips on yours. You kiss him back after few seconds but you pull away soon. “Let's not take this too heated.” He smirks at you. You nudge him gently to his arm with your elbow and you both laugh.

“Promise me this. Do not ever again cut your arms, okay?” he asks and places his forehead on yours. “I promise.” You respond, whispering and you give him a quick smile.
