The bass thumped through the speakers in the practice room, your eyes locked on your boyfriend, Hoseok, as he moved with such grace and fluidity, his body in tune with the music, letting it flow through him. His muscles would tense up at certain points during the choreography, hitting every beat with timed precision and leaving you utterly entranced. A smile of adoration crept onto your features as you gazed upon your talented partner, that smile growing every time he locked eyes with you.
The song came to an end and he let out a heavy exhale while walking over to where you were seated to grab his bottle of water, taking gracious gulps of the refreshing liquid.
"Whew!" He huffed, turning to look at you with a small smile. "How'd I do?" He inquired breathlessly.
"Amazing as always. You're so good at dancing, I wish I was half as talented as you."
"You are!" He nudged you. "Your dancing is good."
"It is not. Don't lie." You chuckled.
"I'm not lying. Some people are much worse."
You laughed a little harder, shaking your head.
"You ready to go home? I think I've practiced enough today."
You nodded and stood up from the chair you were seated in, following your boyfriend out to the car.The practice studio was suffocatingly hot and stuffy, leaving your face feeling warm even after you left the entertainment company building. By the time you got to the apartment, the heat in your cheeks persisted, raising some suspicion, especially since you assumed you would've cooled off by that point. A heavy exhale left your lips when a lethargic sensation hit you all of a sudden.
Hoseok dropped his practice bag on the floor next to the bed. "I'm gonna go get a shower, okay?" He turned to you, pausing when he noticed your weary appearance. "Are you okay?"
"I'm feeling a little tired... almost like I have a fever."
"Sit down. Let me go get a thermometer." He gave your shoulder a pat before hastening out of the room.
You shuffled to the bed, taking a seat on the edge of it, blinking dazedly.
Hoseok came back almost as quickly as he left, sliding the thermometer into your mouth, waiting patiently for it to beep. Glancing at the small screen, he frowned, nodding his head.
"You've got a fever, sunflower. I'll go get some medicine to bring your temperature down before it gets any higher."
You nodded, watching as he exited the room once more, returning with a juice box, a pill, and a wet washcloth. He handed over the medicine and drink, watching as you took it, finishing off the small juice box after swallowing the pill. You laid down while Hoseok took a seat on the edge of the bed, gently pressing the cool cloth to your face to soothe the feverish skin. A blissful sigh left your nostrils and your eyelids slid closed.
"That feels really nice."
"Good." You could hear the smile in his voice as he spoke.
"You need to go get a shower." You mentioned.
"It can wait. I need to take care of you first."
"I'll be fine. Just leave the washcloth on my face while you get a shower."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"If you insist." You felt the mattress bounce back into place as Hoseok stood up.
You readjusted the washcloth, tugging it over your eyes while relaxing into the sheets. The sound of the shower turning on could be heard from the en-suite bathroom, the water sounding akin to rainfall which lulled you into a peaceful state.
