What scars do life leave?
What marks
Linger and remain.
What messages do we learn?
Pain comes from anything
All we can do
Is learn and heal.
Grief leaves a gaping hole
And while we may think
Pain is eternal
We will prevail.
Pain leaves a dripping wound
But hope will soon
Grow and bloom.
Grief leaves a weeping heart
But it soon fades
Into the memories.
What scars do life leave
In our minds and hearts
And souls.
What marks do we retain?
