◈ ━━━━━━━ ⸙ ━━━━━━━ ◈

THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS PASSED AND soon enough, both broken induviduals were back in class and, as you expected, were the talk of the school. Rumours flew about here and there, like Lucy sleeping around with Rogue or Rogue being friends with Lucy only because Natsu hung out with the famous duo on Fiore. They were known as the 'Elite Three' because of their power and wealth. Their control on the school was immense, even the Principal couldn't handle it. However, when the bell rang, Lucy and Rogue said their farewells and seperated from each other- Lucy going into Celestial class and Rogue to Fairy Tail. There, he saw Natsu staring at him and Sting giving him undescribable looks too complicated for Rogue to decipher. He left it there his thoughts distracted by Sensei Makarov or 'Master' Makarov as they would refer to him to because of his leadership skills and motivation he provided for everyone in class. Rogue never took this to heart, but after discovering that his friend since childhood was infact alive and well, it filled him with joy and motivation- Makarov's intented purpose. However, some memories were still blurry and he could never focus on what bothered him. Yes, he had Lucy and he knew how to help her cope but something wasn't right about the whole situation. Maybe it was just him overreacting. Yea. That was it.
Rogue didn't really hang with Natsu anymore. The tension between them was more than unbearable, and he couldn't face Sting nor Michelle after finding out Sting had a lover the whole time. He had been crushing on a taken man; that's bad. He taught himself that being like this was bad. Pathetic. He couldn't face anyone from his old group of friends.
Instead, he and the blonde found themselves surrounded by all sorts of induviduals they had never seen around before. There was Flare Corona, Jellal Fernandes and unexpectedly, Lisanna Strauss. The Lisanna Strauss. The one who replaced Lucy in nearly everything. The one who took everything from her. Her role in the play, her grades in class and her aspiration in becoming a Fairy Tail student. Despite all she had done, Lucy forgave Lisanna for what she did anyway and the old duo which consisted of Lucy and Rogue became a dynamic trio- Lucy, Rogue and Lisanna.
As the trio walked happily down the corridors of the school, Rogue couldn't help but notice the cold glares Natsu and Sting gave him which stung him badly. It hurt. When he looked and Natsu he could see himself; pathetic and useless. Always in need of help. This was the aame scenario with Sting, but he saw how ugly and disgusting he was. Crushing on a taken man. How could he? He quickly turned his head away from his old friends, tears threatening to spill from his eyes. He looked down at his long hoodie sleeves and reminisced on the times he and Natsu would swap clothes just for fun. He wanted those fun memories to come back, to hit him like a truck. At the same time, he wished that he was never born. He wished so many things; they never came true.
Lucy couldn't help but notice the odd glances she'd get from Lisanna and Levy- her old dormmate before she moved out- as if they knew something about her. They didn't know. They couldn't know and they would never know. No, that's ridiculous. Proposterous. Scary to think about. They couldn't know. She'd look at herself in the mirror and she'd see how skinny she had become since meeting Lisanna. She wanted to be just like her: skinny, naturally beautiful, talented at everything. She starved herself numerous times to the point where Rogue had to take her to the hospital due to malnourishment. She didn't think herself of anorexic, it was just a desperation to become skinny. Yea. That was it. Yet, when she went to class she couldn't help but notice the stares she'd get from her classmates, and the passing glares Natsu would send her when they did so much as to meet each other in the crowded (or empty) halls of the large school, housing over five-hundred students. Initially the blonde had thought that she would blend in perfectly with the crowd but considering the large empty space around her when she walked alone, she could never blend in perfectly. She was an outcast- someone nobody wanted to talk to or touch and the glares Natsu sent her were decoded and read over and over again. He hated her, with ever single bone and atom in his body. It was as clear as day. People loved the looks filled with nothing but hate and putrid that he displayed on his face when he crossed paths with her. Her smell, her looks, her everything pissed him off so easily. This sensation of wanting to beat someone always seemed to stalk him whenever he did so much as to look at her, to accidentally brush his arm against her cold, pale skin. He wanted to see her reading glasses cracked and broken, in little pieces on the floor. He wanted to do so much to her, but he couldn't.
Despite his hatred for her, he pushed it all aside for Michelle. Michelle, as in Lucy's sister. Older sister, that is. Michelle told Natsu all about Lucy, all about the blonde's problems and Natsu admit that he didn't have much sympathy for her like he did before when he saw her get kicked from her role as Ellie in the play, 'Rave Master'. It was just him and Lisanna now, and recently, he had gotten together with Lisanna. How was he supposed to be with the silvery-haired beauty when she's always around the blonde who was close to ruining his life? Life was so difficult, why wasn't anything fair? Why can't he just be with the love of his life without any damn interruptions? He hated how everyone seemed to be growing further away from him- the only one that stuck by his side was Michelle. Sting started going off who-knows-where, Lisanna is now part of a dynamic trio with Lucy and Rogue and speaking of Rogue, they weren't even best friends anymore! Since the day he found him shaken and bruised and in the arms of Michelle, everything changed. He went missing for a few days, Natsu tried so hard to call his cellphone but he never picked up. Now, he suddenly appears out of no where and dislikes being associated with him! How utterly ridiculous. Then there's Lucy- he used tp have a crush on her. Yeah, a crush. Have a problem? He thought she was sweet and innocent- clearly not. Something sinister always hides behind a sweet smile. He taught himself that, and he planned to learn a lesson from that. See, Natsu wasn't necessarily mentally stable since the incident. He often let his recklessness and anger have the best of him and he would throw countless tantrums over small things. Okay, that was a lie. He was mentally stable, just less trusting and more coldhearted than warm and open. He started to smoke, do drugs at parties, have sexual intercourse when he felt like it- behind Lisanna's back- and he went to a party one day, wishing he had never went. That night ruined everything, because he got a girl pregnant that night.
