My life was changing and it was all started when the twin gangster brothers walked in to the Candlyand club. I still had to decide if it was for the better or for the worse. Sure, I was getting money for playing the gangster's girl, but it was dirty and there were other bad things that came along with it.
The policemen that now watched me with suspicious eyes. The people that whispered about me on the street. The mean words that they used for calling me. The girls from the Candyland club who suddenly realised that I was competition in the money game and started looking at me with different eyes. All of Byun Baekhyeon's enemies who suddenly had me on their radar.
Was the money really worth it?
That was why I went behind Baekhyeon's back and tried to earn extra cash with Min Yoongi. I had a plan. I wanted to pay off the debt that my mother left me as soon as possible, gather some money and leave Busan. Forever.
Yoongi couldn't help it but to laugh when I told him my plan. We were sitting in his rusty car and we were on our way to some poor neighbourhood, where he apparently had some connections that could help us earn more cash. It later turned out that his great idea was betting it away on car races. At first I thought that there was no way that something like that could work, then he introduced me to someone called Kyungsoo. He was a drug runner for one of the local dealers, but he liked to race in his free time and his driving style made him earn the nickname 'Crazy cowboy'. To say that I was amazed by his skills, would be an understatement.
The sound of someone ringing my doorbell, made me snap out of my thoughts about last night. My heart still started beating faster when I made my way towards the door and remembered who was coming to pick me up. I stopped on my tracks and hesitated for a moment before I continued walking. I opened the door, nervously smiled at the duo that was standing in the hallway and I couldn't help it but to think about what Yoongi told me.
'' Even if your plan succeeds and you run away with Baekhyeon's money, what makes you think that the gangster won't hunt you to the ends of the earth to get his revenge? And don't even let me get started on his crazy brother. ''
My eyebrows furrowed together and I tilted my head to the side in confusion: '' Why are you looking at me like that, mister Byun? ''
Baekhyeon continued staring at me with a stunned expression on his face. '' You take my breath away. ''
My eyes slightly widened with surprise and I could feel my cheeks reddening in embarrassment. Baekhyun, who was leaning against the wall behind him, snorted in amusement. '' He's right. You do. ''
