CHAPTER 38: ROSE

I was searching for my extra pen in my locker. I groaned when I couldn't find it and I was wasting my time looking for it. I shut my locker feeling so annoyed.

"Screw it." I muttered as I turned around and I was so surprised when I saw Caleb standing at my back and he was so close to me that I took a step back feeling my back hit the lockers.

"What the hell." I frowned at him especially when he leaned closer to me and placed his hands on the lockers, encasing me with his arms.

I pushed his chest away making him took a step back and chuckle. I narrowed my eyes at him.

"What the hell do you want?" I asked him as I soothed my shirt.

"Do you have something to do this weekend?" He asked with a grin on his face.

It pissed me off to see him grinning like that.

"No. Why?" I answered sounding so annoyed as I checked my phone for the time. I still have ten minutes to go before my first class starts.

"I want to ask you to hangout with me this weekend." He asked.

"No." I immediately answered without thinking about it. I didn't want to see his face this weekend or anywhere during school break because I didn't want to feel something like I was starting to feel something every time I spend some time with him. It scares me.

"Please." He said and I frowned.

"Why do you want to hangout with me?"

Caleb looked straight into my eyes. "Because I want to spend my weekend with you."

I pursed my lips to stop myself from reacting. He sounded like a fucking player and I didn't want to believe it. He was just saying sweet sappy things that only fools would believe because he wanted things to happen just the way he wants like a spoiled brat.

"I'm late for class." I said and turned around to walk for my first class.

"I would love to spend the weekend with you."

I glared at Will. He heard about Caleb asking me this weekend and I asked him what should I do about him.

"What? You asked for my opinion and that would be my answer or you should say that you couldn't wait to spend the weekend with him."

"No way." I said frowning at him. "Didn't you dislike his guts? Why are you siding with him this time?"

"I'm not on his side."

"You sounds like you are."

"He was quiet serious about it."

"Quiet serious? So, he's not that serious serious."

"But he sounds he is to me." He said and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"You're really pushing me to him, aren't you?"

"I'm not pushing you." Will said and he groaned. "Just do whatever you want."

"My mind's not changing and so's my answer." I muttered because I knew Caleb was quiet stubborn.

Lunch break and I felt so lazy to fall in line to order at the cafeteria and search for a seat to eat.

"We already have seats reserved." Will said and he waved at Hal and of course, Hal was with his friends and that includes Caleb who was grinning so wide.

"I'd rather find another table." I said and Will held my arm and dragged me to their table.

I groaned as Will pulled me to hell and he sat beside Hal and the only space vacant was beside Caleb. He motioned his hand to the empty space between him for me to sit. Will raised his brows at him and giving a what are you waiting for, Christmas? look.

I sat on the edge of the seat and leave a few space between us and I glared at Caleb when he moved to my side, bumping our thighs. They already ordered for us and I frowned at my lunch since I never ordered those foods because they're out of my lunch budget.

"I ordered your food." Caleb muttered.

"How much?" I asked and slipped my hand inside my pocket for my lunch money.

"It's on me."

"No. I'm going to pay."

"You're not paying anything and if you want to pay, you can pay me this weekend."

"Then I'm not eating."

"C'mon!" Jet said who was sitting opposite to me, cutting us. "It's just lunch."

I looked at him and sighed.

I was eating my lunch silently when I noticed Caleb leaning a little closer to me.

"Will you go out with me this week—"

"No." I said, cutting him and Caleb didn't talk to me again the rest of the time in the cafeteria which was good for me but it still pissed me because he was ignoring me.

I groaned because everything about Caleb was making me feel confused. I looked at the questions to our short essay quiz. I scratched my head in annoyance because I wasn't listening yesterday or today and the pink pen with an engraved red rose on the top wasn't helping. It looked so awkward on me but I didn't have a choice. I borrowed it from Julia, my seatmate, this morning and it was the only pen she could lend me. I just wrote what I think and passed my paper to the front when our prof said that the time was up.

I yawned and gave back the pen that I borrowed but Julia was already gone. I stood up and slipped the pen in my pocket. I would give it back to her later.

I went out of he room and I was surprised to see Caleb waiting and he smiled at me.

"Don't you have class?" I asked.

"I do but I want to ask you if we can go out this weekend?" He asked and he sounds like he just asked that question for the first time when in fact, he already asked me a lot of times today.

"Still no." I said and walked pass him to the locker's hallway. I was expecting him to tail and annoy me but he didn't. I just shrugged my shoulders.

I was driving back home when I heard my phone rang. I checked it when I stopped to a red light. I had one missed call from Caleb and a message.

Did you like the rose? Check the message inside the pen.

I frowned and realized what he was talking. "How—are you kidding me?" I muttered and I picked the pen from the dashboard where I threw it because it was hard to sit when it was inside my pocket.

It wasn't Julia's because it was Caleb's. "That crazy stalker." I unscrewed the bottom of the pen and I saw a rolled piece of paper was inside. I pulled it out and unrolled it.

Go out with me this weekend, was what was written at the paper and it pissed me off.

"No!" I exclaimed and crumpled the small sheet of paper and threw it to the passenger seat together with the pen just exactly when the light turned into green.
