SCENE 11 - THE RECITAL

(TANIKA enters with semi-healed wounds and a black and green costume on. She appears numb, as if she was mentally broken, HAYDEN enters behind her.)

HAYDEN

Don't disappoint me, apprentice.  Understood?

TANIKA (Emotionless)

Yes sir.

(HAYDEN exits. ECHO and MADISON enter, talking to each other.)

ECHO

She's gone insane, it's like we don't have her anymore.

MADISON

She's still here physically, just not -

(They notice TANIKA)

MADISON

Tanika! You ready?

TANIKA

Yeah. Let's get the fuck out of here.

ECHO

Alright, ha ha...How are you?

TANIKA

I'm...fine. 

(TANIKA exits.)

MADISON

Oh god, I hope she can get better.

ECHO

We all do. Now come on, let's get ready.

(They exit. Lights on TANIKA, she dances ballet perfectly to a sad, slow song, the emotion slowly coming back on her face as she dances. She ends the performance in tears. Meanwhile in the audience, ECHO, ISABELLE, OLIVIA and MADISON find recruits and lead them out. TANIKA finishes her dance and runs off stage, alone with everyone else. )
