You sat on the grey loveseat that was in the corner of your living room, facing the front door. You had been sitting there all night waiting for your fiancé to walk through the door with a bouquet of flowers and Chic-Fil-A.

It was a special occasion indeed. Your three year anniversary, and you'd been engaged for two of those years so you would think he remembered. Of course he remembered though. It's Quavious, your high school sweetheart and fiancé. He wouldn't forget.

Three a.m. was slowly approaching. You yawned multiple times and dozed off even more but shook it off because you wanted to see his face when he walked through the door.

Your watch vibrated against your watch. It was slowly dying. You sighed and slowly said curse words under your breath. He forgot. He actually forgot your anniversary.

You weren't expecting anything big because you two had been together for so long but you weren't expecting him to forget the day all together. It hurt your feelings and your heart felt like it wanted to explode from sadness.

You heard the garage open and close, then you saw the door handle shake and turn to the left.

It was Quavious, with nothing in his hand but his phone and his keys.

"You up late." Was all he said before going up the stairs. You knew something wasn't right.

You slipped your house shoes back on and walked upstairs, following slowly behind him.

"That's it?" You asked him. You leaned against the door and just looked at him as he stripped down to his boxers. "That's all you have to say? No 'I'm sorry for getting home so late' or 'I love you baby I would never forget our anniversary'?"

"What?" He asked. He was obvious out of his right mind. He picked his phone up off the dresser and looked at the date then up at you. His face loosened then he clenched his jaw again.

"Sorry." He shrugged. "We've been together too long to even celebrate anniversaries. You should be over them by now."

Your mouth dropped. "I am over them Qua but still. You should know when our anniversary is and at least acknowledge it. Not just treat it like some normal day because it's not a regular ass day. It's the day we got together and that's a really important day to me. I-"

You were cut off by the light snores that escaped Qua's mouth. You were just appalled. The amount of disrespect was ridiculous.

You shook your head and grabbed a few outfits out of your closet before texting your friend Ari that you would be staying there for a few days.

Before you left though, you made sure to leave him a note.

Bye Qua, obviously I'm not important to you anymore and neither is our anniversary so let's just stop this. Thank you for all the memories. I will always have a special place in my heart just for you. Love you.

You sat the engagement ring on the note and walked downstairs, bag in one arm and phone and keys in the other. You got in your Tesla and sat in it for a few minutes waiting for it to warm up.

You took one final look at the house before driving to Ari's house to get your mind off of things. Hopefully her and Herb can help you feel better.
