This morning was something he never wanted to live through again. His mothers tears cut through him like he was nothing but jelly but the words she said, the words he heard, they were words that belonged to someone else. They were words that should never have been part of his.

His beautiful Janella had given up on him. He'd destroyed what they had and had no idea what he could do to get it back. He tried to remember the last time he saw her smile reach her eyes for him and with a lump in his throat he couldn't. He tried to remember the last time... the last time her size didn't matter. He couldn't. Over and over again he told himself he could change. He told himself he could live with the laughs and the jibes. He knew he couldn't. The way Nellie was treated was something he didn't want for himself. He was weak. He was weaker than the lowest omega. When did life become so complicated? He was a teen in love, he should be shouting it from the rooftops and yet he kept silent and closed off. He was the son of an Alpha and a future one at that and she should be at his side but there was no way that people would accept her. Put simply she was too fat. Too fat for the Luna title but not too fat for him to love her with everything inside him. She was more than what people saw on the outside. If only they took the time

He laughed. He laughed at himself. Sitting here thinking about that when he couldn't do it himself. He was a joke, a disgrace. If anyone else spoke about their lives in this way he'd tell them to follow their heart and yet here he was, a pathetic excuse of a mate being led by his insanely vain personality. Completely and totally pathetic.

She stood there. Looking at the pond and the water trying to seep through the reeds to make an escape and realised how much she felt like that water. Trapped. Wanting nothing more than to go with the flow and becoming one with the water that swirled on by with so much promise. Soon it would all be over.

"Good morning my child."

Janella turned in a start and softly smiled at the beautiful vision that stood before her. There was something that made her feel connected to Misty in a way she didn't understand.

"How are you today my child?"

"Tired but ok. I was awake earlier than I should have been and didn't bother trying to get back to sleep."

Misty smiled sadly at the pain she saw in her daughters eyes. A daughter who would never know about her.

"Are you ready for today?" she asked.

"No" laughed Nellie with obvious pain "but there's no other way."

"I ask you again... is this something you really want? Are you sure you're ready to say goodbye?"

Janella looked past her to the forest. As hard as she tried there was no way she could stop the  tears that slipped down her cheeks as she remembered.

"Probably not but it's something I need. I need to say goodbye. I need the pain to go."

"Then come with me."

A young hand held lovingly by another and within moments the sounds of the forest and flowing water were all that remained there.
