I woke up on the second the Morning Announcement played, even though I was exhausted from the night before (and what I'm sure ran in to very early that morning), so I decided to stay in bed for as long as possible.

Almost on cue with me drifting back to sleep, my eHandbook loudly shook and fell off my bedside table, clattering to the floor.

I jumped up and got dressed as quickly as possible, and ran downstairs, not wanting to be late.

"Hello." I said to Kimika.

"Hey." She said back, finishing a final bite of a sandwich. "You Just wake up?" She asked, mouth half full.

"Uh, no. I woke up on the announcement. Stayed in bed until the alert. Surely not a motive already?"

"No, no, I'd assume it's a new area. We'll check it out when we get there. Are you eating?"

I shook my head. "I don't feel great." I kept thinking about Haruhi's expression as the laser shot her in between her eyebrows. The intense fear in her eyes, and only her eyes, when she was yanked by the neck towards her death.

Then my mind wandered to how scared Ichijo must've been, on the edge of death from an allergic reaction, suffering side effects of antidepressants, suddenly being attacked.

I then remembered how Jiro must've been taken off guard, and how Eiji must have been scared. It came as some consolation that Omi wouldn't have suffered a whole lot, since she was knocked out immediately. Then I remembered Ari, and I was back where I began.

"Are you okay?" Kimika rubbed my arm, snapping we out of it. "What's wrong?"

"I guess I'm just worried. Y'know, about the Hypnotist." It could be anyone. Even Kimika.

"Hm." She gave an unsure look. "Come on, let's go."

Being, like usual, last, we entered into the auditorium, which had an odd air of suspicion that wasn't there after Eiji's trial, or Ari's for that matter.

"Hey, guys." Chikako said weakly, yawning soon after. "I didn't sleep at all last night."

"Me neither." Issei said.

"I don't think anyone did."

Nobody knew what to talk about. The splash of energy from both Ichijo and Haruhi was gone. Now we were just a sad bunch of kids.

"Hello!!" Monokuma shouted without warning after a couple minutes of silence.

"What?" I said, sneering.

"Geez, calm down! I'm just saying that I've opened up a new road. Kids these days. Ess-em-aitch."

Chikako raised an eyebrow. "Did you just- nevermind."

"How many new buildings?" Issei asked him.

"Two." He said, not making eye contact. "A morgue and a warehouse."

I remember thinking that that was an odd combination of buildings, but I shrugged it off.

I opened my eHandbook.
