They were laying on Jack's couch, silently watching a random movie they had chosen, when they heard footsteps.

Zach tapped Jack's shoulder, "Do you hear that?"

Jack held Zach tighter, "Yeah, it's probably the wind. I think it just started raining."

Zach nodded, "I saw that on the news earlier."

They continued mindlessly watching, Zach drawing random shapes onto Jack's arms calmly. Their chests pressed together, and sometimes Jack just loved resting his head on top of Zach's, while he listened to his heart beating.

It was calm and pure, all they wanted.

But once again, another thump noise; louder than the last.

"I don't think that's rain..." said Zach, his anxiety coming slowly.

"I'll go check outside, come with?" told Jack while gently helping Zach's off of him. Zach nodded and held his hand, walking to the closest window.

They walked to the window, Jack confusingly looking around.

Until his ears were filled with a painful sound, and the hand that was once holding his was slowly letting go.

Jack turned to his right, and saw Zach slowly falling to the ground.

That noise was a gun shot, and he suddenly felt unresponsive. 

His eyes were starting to be filled with salty tears, "Zach? Zach? Babe?" he called out, shaking Zach's body.
