Goldy's POV
I had my head tilted towards my schedule, but my eyes were on Tina and the boys coming my direction. Tina approached me first, and the two guys just stood behind her.
"Hey Goldy! Do you remember Ryan and Unicorn?" Tina asked, gesturing to the boys.
"I knew they looked familiar..." I said to myself. "Of course I remember them!" I turned my attention to Ryan and Unicorn. "Good to see you guys again!"
"You too Goldy, right Unicorn Mann?" Ryan questioned, giving him a cheeky grin.
"Yeah... definitely..." Unicorn replied, gazing at the floor. My once happy expression turned incredibly bleak. Did he not miss me?

Unicorn's POV
I didn't mean to sound upset to see her, but I couldn't help it! 10 years and she didn't try to contact me. Aren't we supposed to be best buds? I couldn't raise my head to look at her, mostly because I knew what expression she was wearing. The second bell rang and I decided to sit in front of Goldy. Ryan sat next to me, and Tina behind him. We sat in silence, fully aware of the awkward tension.
The day flew by quickly, and before I knew it, it became lunch time. I sat with Ryan, and of course, Tina joined us. I tensed up when Tina called Goldy over, but I loosened up when she sat across from me. Tina and Ryan chatted about daycare days, until they noticed the silence between me and Goldy.
"So guys, what have you been up to the past 10 years?" Tina questioned, trying to make conversation. Goldy's face lit up and she seemed to forget about the tension.
"Well my dad and I moved closer to the school, you know, because we used to live in a jungle. So I've gotten the chance to explore the area and meet my neighbors." She exclaimed excitedly.
"Cool! What about you Unicorn?" Ryan asked, turning to face me.
"I've been doing the usual. Patrols, science, school, etc." I replied, taking a bite of my sandwich.

Goldy's POV
I could tell that something was up with Unicorn. I thought he would have been happy to see me after all these years, but he seemed pretty upset. Did I do something wrong? That question lingered throughout my head for the rest of the day, and soon, I needed to ask.
Ryan had a feeling I might want to talk to Unicorn, so he told me he would probably be at the park. I thanked him and headed to see my old friend. As I arrived, I was intrigued be how lively the place was. The trees and grass were a beautiful shade of green, and all of the flowers were in full bloom. While I was admiring the scenery, I spotted a purple suit on one of the benches. I headed over to where Unicorn sat, only to have his white glowing eyes frown at me. I ignored it and sat down.
"Hey Unicorn, how've you been?" I asked, trying to lighten the mood.
"I've been fine." He replied with a grunt. My heart sank. What did I do...?

Unicorn's POV
I watched as Goldy's head lowered. My mood darkened as I saw her once cheerful face turn sad and cold. I couldn't keep treating her this way. I turned to her and hugged her. She jumped in surprise before returning the gesture.
"I'm sorry..." She said, her voice barely above a whisper.
I broke the hug. "Why are you sorry?" I asked her, making it clear that I was confused.
"I made you upset, didn't I?" She questioned.
I couldn't help but laugh. She was still as cute as she was in daycare. She stared at me, her eyes filling with confusion.

Goldy's POV
"Did I say something funny?" Unicorn forced himself to stop laughing so he could respond.
"No, of course not! I just found it funny how I was about to apologise to you!" He explained, holding his head in his hands as his laughter began again. I had to join in.
We sat there for a few minutes until we couldn't handle the giggling. We both took deep breaths to calm ourselves down and then continued the conversation.
"So you're not mad at me?" I asked, turning my head to look him in the eyes.
"No I'm not. Although a text would have been nice." He replied, causing my mind to click. That's why he was upset. I didn't contact him at all during our time apart...
He noticed my expression change and made his entire body face me.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Mmhmm..." I hummed in response.
"Goldy." He said sternly. Right, he's still Unicorn Mann...strong, protective, caring, and knows when you're lying.
"I just didn't think about how me not talking to you over the years would affect our friendship."
