They didn't know how long they had been sitting there doing nothing. The heroes just sat there and listened to the cries and laughter of the people in the field.
When Tony looked around at the group, he realised someone was missing. "Hey, guys. Is the Spiderling here?" The others looked around in confusion and when the silence continued, Tony knew Peter wasn't with them. "Oh, God. No, no, nononononono. No!"
The Avengers looked confused but the Guardians had looks of realisation on their faces. "Shit," Quill exclaimed. "The kids all alone on Titan."
Those who were confused before were definitely confused now. Seeing this, Quill explained what had happened since Tony didn't look like he could. Stark was crying, curled up in a ball. He kept whispering that he was sorry, rocking back and forth.
'I'm sorry Peter. God, I'm so sorry.'
After being told what had happened in space, the other Avengers felt sick. A kid was stuck on a foreign planet all alone after fighting Thanos.
They all sat in silence, praying for the kid, unaware of what was currently happening on Titan.
