{Neil's POV}

It has been about two days since Ryan's accident. The thunder rolls and the rain is falling hard in the humid morning. It's too dark to even tell that it's morning from the continuously darkening clouds. I sit at a table next two a window at a local coffee shop. I am basically all alone beside a few workers.

After finishing my coffee I walk outside and sit on a bench. Several things are running through my mind at this moment. I can't even think straight. Ever since the incident I haven't gotten even a half an hours worth of shut eye! I'm exhausted, not to mention down right disgusted with what happened.

The tears start falling down my face and they won't stop. The news I had received at the hospital was impossible to believe. I sometimes wish it weren't real. No. I do wish it weren't real! Here go my thoughts again.

{Flashback 2 days ago}

My sobs can probably be heard throughout the whole hospital. Amnesia!? This cannot be real! I call George to tell him the news.

Please pick up. Please pick up. God dammit George pick up! Please!

"Hello?"

"Heya George."

"Hey Neil. How are things going?"

"Umm... Uh.."

"Hey are you crying?"

"Yeah kind of."

"Oh God. What happened?"

"Well..."

"I'm like a block away from the hospital right now. I'll be there in two minutes lad."

"Okay. See ya then."

After hanging up with George I sit back down, trying to calm myself. This situation was not something I would ever want to be involved in. I wait for another 2 minutes and sure enough George is rushing right into the hospital. He sees me and sits right down next to me.

"Oh Neil. I'm so sorry you have to go through this. Tell me what they found out please." He tells me. I try to choke back more tears as I explain to him that Ryan had amnesia. I also tell him that Ryan couldn't recognize me or remember what had happened to him earlier.

George is in complete shock. "Oh God. W-why... Why did this happen? Ryan didn't deserve to go through all of this!" I nod in agreement and let out a sob. It was painful holding in the tears. George sees this and pulls me in for a hug. I really need it at this point.

"Um, excuse me?" We both turn around to see one of Ryan's nurses in panic.

"Is something the matter miss?" The nurse was in complete shock.

"Uh, you're the family of Ryan Kelly right?"

George speaks up this time. "Well technically were friends, but I suppose you can say we're family."

The nurse continues. "Right. Um... I don't know how to tell you this but..."

"What's wrong? Just tell us! Please!"

"I'm so sorry... Ryan has slipped into a coma."

George and I just stand here. I can't believe what I just heard. First amnesia, now a coma?! What was next... DEATH??? At the thought of this, I start feeling myself getting dizzy. The last thing I hear is George screaming my name. I feel myself fall forward as blackness takes over my vision.

Just thinking about how I could've been there. I could've warned Ryan about the tree branch. I knew I should've just followed him back to the house. The weather was too severe! It was my fault! It was... my fault. The rain is making it hard to see my tears, but they are there.
