It wasn't supposed to go this way. It wasn't supposed to end like this right? The heroes always win, always save the day, don't they?
Wanda's mind blanked. She couldn't think of anything but you and her brother.
She screamed; a piercing shriek so terrified and powerless.
She saw you. You'd died for her, to save her.
I guess the heroes don't always win.
Tears ran down her face; her hand covered her mouth to try to stop another scream. "No, no, no," she whispered repeatedly into her hand, watching your body hit the ground.
You laid there, motionless, your mission accomplished. Wanda was safe for now, no matter how heartbroken.
Logically, she knew it wasn't her fault you were dead. She knew it was your choice, and that she couldn't have done anything to stop you or change your mind. But knowing and believing are two very different things. Wanda believed with every fiber in her being that it was her fault; that now the two most important people in her life were dead.
Her grief poured out of her in screams and sobs, her powers responding to the intense emotion she was feeling, nearly tearing down the building as she cried.
