The waves of salt water
Splash over my face
The waves so gentle
Wash away my tears
Like you used to
But
They can't stitch together my torn heart
Like you used to
The waves embrace me
Fighting away the pain
Like you used to
But
They can't whisper comforting words to me
Like you used to
The waves dive deep into my wounds
Causing them to scream
Increasing the pain
Pouring salt onto the wounds
Like you just did
