Today I woke up
To the sun embracing my warm skin
I felt just fine
Like fine enough to be happy
My heart didn't hurt so bad
It didn't hurt to breath
I felt the pain lingering though
Like an over looming shadow
Creeping up on you slowly
I felt myself stitching up inside
The bloody wounds drying
The tears halting
My smile never faltering
I have learned now
That healing takes time
