Kyan woke with a stifled groan which transformed into a low moan as warm, firm hands massaged his lower back with practiced ability.  "That good huh?" Adam drawled, as he ran his hands along the soft length of flesh beneath his palms.  Kyan's plush body would never be the slender sort, even with lack of food it seemed that the youth could just not lose those last few pounds, but that did not detract from the attractiveness that was their lover.

"Keep going," Kyan mumbled.  Their tumble between the sheets had been a little rough and wanton.  Hilton's physical stamina coupled with his personalities all longing to touch often meant that their nights joined together would be long, usually until Kyan succumbed to exhaustion.  Last night, there had been provocation, however.

"I wish I could, love," Adam kissed the warmed back lovingly before pulling away with a sigh.  "But I have to get going.  The squad is planning to raid one of your factories."  There was a teasing tone within his voice as he said this.  Indeed, on paper, the cloth factories were Lucian's (Kyan's) but those papers were worthless and the need for cloth outweighed any objections that the original might have had... had he not been murdered.

Kyan pouted, his thick lower lip distended and Adam could not help but take a bite.  Kyan pushed him away.  "You owe me the rest of this massage," he told his lover, who chuckled in agreement and promised profusely, before getting himself ready to move out.

The couple had been on base for three months and had moved into a room close to that of the squad, but with the privacy that they desired.  In that time, Hilton would teach those who had awakened their magic on how they could manipulate it.  He, unfortunately, could not teach them much beyond the basics.  His element was fire and thus he knew mostly spells and such related to fire.  However, children who were gifted were most adaptable and just like Virgil, soon had the way of things.  Adults were those who mostly struggled.

The General's magic happened to be wind based, which at first, he was a little disappointed over it.  So he could knock a few zombies over with a wave of his hand, that meant nothing to burning them to a cinder or forcing lightning through their brains until they exploded!  However, this man was the stubborn sort and did not wish to seem lesser compared to Hilton in the eyes of his lover and persevered until he learnt one particularly valuable technique.  His voice could ride upon the wind and give the illusion that he could bellow one heck of a shout!  He did not use it lightly, however, at least until the small politician came over with his magically gifted son and tried to threaten the General's position once more.

"GET OUT OF MY OFFICE, YOU NO GOOD SLIMY LITTLE MAN!"

The small politician, his son (whose magic Elyas said was sand magic, useful if he wished to join a squad at least), the office door and the windows had all been blown out of the room due to the explosive force of the General and his wind arts.  The small politician had finally stopped pushing his luck and was last seen mucking out the sewage pipe that had become blocked.

In the meantime, Kyan had instructed that he required a warm space without windows.  The General gave him a large portion of his operation's old basement headquarters.  With Elyas's help, he transformed the space into a hidden greenhouse.  The herbs came from a world where plants were king.  If the herbs came in contact with sunlight, there was a great chance of them mutating and causing more grief to the men and women trying to survive the zombie apocalypse.  They were blessed enough that the zombie virus had not mutated further and infected animals, so meat was still available.

And while his herbs were sprouting, Kyan had produced a formula to help aid the speed of growth of the vegetables and fruits in the greenhouses... alright that was a little lie... he borrowed an old recipe of Leif's from that world and reproduced the potion in this one so that survival would no longer be just a vain hope.
