Fighting

I gaze down,
Looking at my watch.
My lips form a frown,
As I remember years past.

Do you remember
How you shut me out?
You shut him out of your life too,
And I was left without you.

He taught me life lessons,
You never thought to teach.
With him, I learned all sorts,
Cooking, cleaning, cars, and how to preach.

I think back on all you've taught,
I have a hard time recalling.
This sounds so harsh,
I hate speaking my mind.

I won't ever fight,
And you both trust me so.
Trust me with your fears and insecurities,
I'm still young, though.

I say these words,
Not to offend.
No, I simply mean to inform,
This fightin' has got to end.
