Sixteen

There was something wrong with Sonic...and i didn't know what, he was cold, and more pale in the light of the house.

he started shivering and i felt myself panic as i had an idea of what was going on

"Maurice, did Scourge do anything else besides pining you down?" I asked

"I don't kn-' he didn't finish as he began coughing

"whats going on?" Martha asked, i didn't take my eyes off of my brother

"creatures can be turned back into mortals, but only certain vampires know how to do it, but at a cost"  i said 

"what?" She asked

"Shadow, if this is what i think it is, get anything that keep him warm" i looked him in the eyes

"but i thought vampires didn't need to be warm?" Shadow stated

"just do it" i glared at him "and bring that witch here when you come back" 

"you didn't answer my question" Martha snapped

"why do you think vampires kill before they turn a mortal?! so if they are no longer of use they can be turned back and die painfully! and if he's been turned back by our cousin then he'll die" i glared at her, Maurice was shivering more

"how do you know if he is?" she took a step back

"if theres an ancient rune found on him" I said as i turned back to my brother who was now unconscious again

{Scourge's Pov}

their so stupid, i know the spells, i easily undid the one that froze me, but his words hung in my head like the words my uncle had said to me

i walked in the night looking for the fungus

but i couldn't risk them getting hurt, because of my damn mistake

"have you found it yet?" her voice said to me as she brushed her hands against my cheek

"no, i haven't" i answered and she dung her nails into my skin

"we'll find it or they both will die" she hissed and left me in the night

i stood here, not like i would burn anyways...
