This is my quietus
Before my expiry
To the world who could no longer
Keep me in its armsMy dear,
I have paid with blood and sweat and tears
Just as promised
I will return to your earthy groundsThese curtains are slowly closing
Dissolution marching fore
I cross the great divide
On a river flowingFerryman, take this lowly coin
Aged with dirt and rust
Beneath, the sheen still lives
And judge lightly of meI have done
All I could
In this short time
My hands are tiredI have seen
All I could see
In this short time
My eyes long for more
But this ticking clock
Will not ceaseHow I will miss
This sweet air
Though it may be taintedAll I ask now
Is a place of rest
I have played your game
I have finished your testLet my memory live
In their smiles
Don't cry for me
This is my fate
My thread will soon be cutPlease
Judge lightly of me
When I turn to ashes and dust
