Maybe it's poetic justice, the right way to finish of what Voldemort had started – he created his enemies, now he has to kill them. Harry and I defeated him by just being there, being vulnerable... If that's the way to finally put an end to this era, then so be it.

Emily's head had gotten far clearer than it has ever been in the past seventeen years, sharper with the knowledge of her upcoming death and at peace with the wisdom that this would be all for the future of the Wizarding World and everyone in it. Perhaps this was false bravery, something to help her push through offering her life into Death's arms – whatever it was that pulsated in her veins, it made her almost arrogant with confidence.

The twins were already out of the Headmaster's Office and nearing the Great Hall, shrouded under the Invisibility Cloak though it seemed futile since the halls were abandoned and the portraits empty. Nearly half an hour was lost since they delved inside Snape's memories, each passing second seeming to weigh down their hearts to the ground, drowning out the high that surged adrenaline.

"Neville – Neville, it's alright. I can manage." A deep voice said, heaving two children into his arms. Emily and Harry paused just as they were about to enter the Great Hall, a sharp almost stab-like sensation blowing at their stomachs as they were greeted by the lifeless bodies of the Creevey brothers in Oliver Wood's arms.

Standing with his wounded leg and bloodied face, Neville wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, looking almost middle-aged with the streaks of war that marked his face, darkness hovering over his eyes as he looked down the hall for more bodies to be retrieved.

Emily looked down where Oliver passed. There were two massive, washed out blood stains where Lavender and Cho were murdered. She turned to look at her brother who was peering into the Great Hall, hungry for even the smallest glance of the people they consider family.

"It's better this way," She whispered, grabbing Harry's arm. "We won't be able to help ourselves once we see any of them. And let's be honest, Hermione would figure it out." Emily said with the smallest of grins. Harry nodded, wrinkles appearing on his forehead when he looked away from the Great Hall and down instead the dark hallway where Neville ventured. "I have a plan."

Dragged along by her wrist, the twins moved down the hall and onto the steps enveloped in darkness. It was already four in the morning according to Harry's watch, but after all that had happened, time seemed to stop in Hogwarts, seeming to almost be watching and waiting for the twins' next move, anticipating their deaths.

Harry let go of his sister's wrist, leaving her under the cloak as he took three steps forward outside of it, shocking Neville to his core. "BLIMEY," He exasperated, cowering over his chest, "You nearly gave me a heart attack – where's Emily?"

Emily uncloaked herself, a light smile greeting Neville. "Hi."

"Where

"Where... Where are you two going?" He asked suspiciously, his eyes flickering between the twins and the bundled-up cloak in Emily's hands. "Harry, Em – you're not – you're not going to hand yourselves over, right?"
