He looked around, instantly getting up.

"Well, I guess I should keep going."

And he did, he looked for another two nights, making little progress.

At this point he was exhausted. Hes been searching nonstop, so he decided to make camp to get some much needed sleep.

After building some shelter and a campfire, he laid on his back looking at the sky.

He tried to find stars, but it was so dark and cloudy he wasnt even sure it was day time. He would use his dial, but his horse ran away with it.

"Hold on!" He quickly sat up and rummaged through his bag.

He pulled out a flat crystal looking device, and muttered a short spell.

Suddenly he saw the face of his dear friend pidge inside the crystal.

She lit up, "Lance!!"

"Shh!!! Quiet dont let shiro know I used one of these. They're for emergencies technically but I have a couple."

"How are you! Are you doing okay?"

"Well I lost my horse. But other than that I'm fine."

"Did you find him?"

"No. Not yet."

As soon as he finished, his campfire went out with a swoop.

Pidge saw the light go out, "lance! What was that?!"

"I- I dont know."

He heard a noise from within the trees, "pidge I've gotta go."

"No! Please dont go I'm so worried!"

Then he heard a growl, soft yet close.

He said nothing else to pidge, but just ended the spell.

He pulled out his long magic sword, and got into a fighting stance.

Normally the sword would have roaring blue flames, but he was so exhausted he couldnt use his magic properly.

"W-who's there?!"
