Jace's POV

"What do you mean my husband kidnapped a girl? You have three seconds to get the hell off my property before I call the police!"

My fist curls at my sides as she yells at me,         " this is your husband walking beside Johnathan, my girlfriends lunatic of a brother. Does this look like the unconscious girl in his arms is leaving of her own free will? Oh please do call the cops lady, you'll be arrested on accessory to kidnapping."

As expected that shuts her right the hell up. I never understood how someone could defend a monster like this. When you say your vows you promise to stand by your spouse through sickness and health, not through murders and kidnapping.

She has the proof right in front of her but yet she pretends not to see it, "I'm going to have a look around if your husband is innocent as you claim I won't find anything."

"Don't you dare!"

"Then call the cops, I'm sure they will love to see the video I have here." If Alec was here he would be telling me what I can and can't do. I can't storm into some random woman's house, I can't threaten her in her own home, that's why he isn't here.

I head up the stairs as Luke searches the first floor. Simon follows me and it's all I can do not to push him down the steps.
Alright, maybe that's a little too harsh.
He is helping me when my own family thinks I'm crazy. I see their point I am acting crazy I just don't care. I guess I have to give the dweeb credit for that.

"So what do you think we're going to find here?"

"Honestly I say," as I turn the knob to a random room," more than likely a whole lot of nothing but I'm hoping we find a clue to where they took her. Alcante tracked the GPS in the car to an old airport, he has guys searching the surrounding woods right now but I doubt they'll find anything. He took her somewhere in a private jet. Has to be."

"You don't think Clary... you don't think she's dead right?"

As soon as the words leave his mouth he looks like he wants to swallow them back up, "Don't go there, Simon. Don't even think it."

I can't let my head go there if I do I'll... let's just say I don't want to find out.
I would burn the world down if I could dig her out of the ashes. The limits I would go for her are endless and that thought scares me slightly but not enough to let that affect my actions.

"I'm sorry... I'm just scared."

"Me too," I admit, " but we can't go there, Clary is alive, I have to believe it."

Simon nods his head as he starts rifling through drawers but it doesn't take long before his face goes pale, "What is it, Simon?" I ask coming out of the closet.

In his hands he holds hundreds of pictures of Clary, "this," he says holding up one of the two of them laughing and sitting at a table with a picnic basket in front of them," is from two years ago."

"Are you sure?"

"Absolutely positive," he points to the smiling Clary in the photo," this was taken hours before she... hours before he hurt her. This is the outfit she was wearing that night. The first and last time she wore it."

So the bastard was following her before the attack, of course, he was he needed intel on his target.

"Just keep looking," I say shoving the pictures into a random bag I found in their closet," we'll tear the house apart if we need to."

I walk out of the room leaving Simon to paw through the rest of their shit, I walk down the halls trying to think about where I would hide things as a kid. I start to run my fingers along the walls when at last I find it, a slight indention in the wall. I push on it and it opens revealing a crawl space.
