Sanguine Shade ✨

I was playing with my bleak, broken doll,
Until I felt something fortuitously foreign,
In my mind, fear of the unknown started to crawl,
Sensations of an overwhelming contractions of pain, impossible to be forgotten,

Told my mother and my aunt,
their reaction was equivalent to being cursed,
they said "Interaction with any male, you now can't,
your womanhood is sacred, it needs to be protected at first"

So with the foreign, ominous feeling,
a petrifying foreign world opened up to me,
foreign changes to my body were revealing,
how I became a woman at the age of twelve was beyond me,

The next few months went in a daze,
no more broken dolls, no more youthful play,
the pain, the bleeding, the foreign feeling never fazed,
rectified and criticized was every word that I'd say,

In a blink I was betrothed to a foreign macabre man,
His age, his name, his character unknown,
my life was flipped in such a short span,
If it was the correct tradition, why can't my heart condone?

In a eye-itching haze, I was in a foreign house on a foreign bed,
I experienced another round of an astonishing pain,
On that moonless night, again I bled,
at the expense of all this, pleasure was at his end of bargain,

Persistent pain every night, weighing responsibilities everyday,
I realized I was actually the vibrant foreigner,
Unbeknownst to me, the world was always grey,
Around their cold, stone-like minds, my heart could never be warmer,

After a tedious foreign year, I stained the sheets for the last time,
with the same sanguine shade that tainted my spotless, bijou world,
From my wrists, I freed myself of the nature's crime,
Free of womanhood, free of forced love, I laid peacefully curled.

-Hey you sweet little potato reading this, I hope you're doing great.

I am aware of the fact that this poem is somewhat uh what do you say? Explicit?

But I had to, this poem talks about child marriage. Although its illegal but there's still so many cases that it makes me restless. I can't go change it, yet, but I believe making people aware of it through poetry is big enough of a deal right?

Rhyming scheme is slightly off but I had to put it out here cause heh

I am not sorry if this made anyone uncomfortable, we're all old enough here to understand and need to realize the ugly truth.

SAY NO TO CHILD MARRIAGE!!!
All my love to you all ❤
