Chapter 4

Two Faces

Now that I think about it, for what reason am I actually living for?

"Well now, let's get to another interesting part!" the professor excitedly exclaimed, slamming his hand on the board. "Let's talk about pre-marital sex."

The main topic switched to teenagers having sex at an early stage of dating and the importance of virginity, which I really didn't pay a lot of attention to. I just think that people created this whole 'virginity' as a concept of morality. It's all just created by people's minds who wanted to claim that they are so called 'righteous'. Well, christians in particular are such freaks who think that virginity is important.

Why? When you have sex the first time, do you change into a dog? A cat? Or even a monkey? Gosh, nothing happens when you have sex. Penis just penetrates the vagina and boom, that's what sex is. You're still a person and the only difference is, you got your hymen ripped apart.

Okay, I sound so incredibly vulgar right now. If my parents would hear this, they would start nagging at me, telling me what stupidity is coming out of my mouth. They would tell me that they didn't send me to a notorious christian school to learn such vulgarity. Oh, did I forget to tell you about that? Well, yeah, here I am in St. Catherine Christian High School.

But guess what? People here aren't those who I expected. They're way worse than I ever imagined.

"Alright, I want you to make a reflection paper about pre-marital sex. Minimum of 3 pages. Now, class dismissed," he said as he took his things and headed straight out of the classroom.

I started cleaning up my things scattered around my desk from taking down notes from the lecture but then, my friend (not really) Jade suddenly stopped by in front of my desk, putting her hand on top of my table.

"Hi, Wen," she greeted in an unusual sweet tone, while twirling a lollipop in the air.

"Hey, Jade," I said in a cheery tone.

"Did you have a boyfriend during junior high?" she suddenly asked.

Oh-ho, this girl's got something fishy. I stare at her, looking for the words to say and the only reaction I manage to get out of me was a scoff.

"Why all of a sudden?" I asked while chuckling and trying to cover up my scoff.

"Just answer," she demanded, taking a lick on her lollipop.

"I don't," I replied nonchalantly.

"Good. Let's make a deal." She leaned over my desk and slowly moved closer to my face, wearing a smug grin. Her eyes were screaming with weird schemes which made kind of anxious. There were small shivers crawling up my skin as I start to focus on her mysterious expression.

"You write my paper, I'll arrange you a guy on saturday," she said as nonchalant as she could but it sounded way too grim for me. Was I imagining things?

"Uhh, what?" I reacted in confusion but still wearing a smile.

"Come on, Eiddwen. You know I'm bad at writing stuff like this," she said as she shook my hand in a coy manner. "And the topic is so lame! How will I be able to write shit like that in a few days?"

"W-Well, uhh, I'm not so sure about that.." I mumbled, avoiding direct contact from her eyes as I was clearly uncomfortable expressing disagreement.

"Why? Is it because of your oh-so-perfect parents who want their child to remain innocent? Or is it because, meeting a guy makes you unholy?" teased while rolling her eyes.
