Quote from the Holy Qur'an: Al-Baqara (2:256)

La ikraha fee alddeeni qad tabayyana alrrushdu mina alghayyi faman yakfur bialttaghooti wayumin biAllahi faqadi istamsaka bialAAurwati alwuthqa la infisama laha waAllahu sameeAAun AAaleemun

Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things.

Hasan?!!!

What was he doing here? She thought as she gingerly took a step forward. She didn't think she'd see him again.......at least for a while after she'd gone  Usain Bolt on him the day she found out he knew that Amir was the father of Yasmin's child.

He was standing with his arms crossed leaning against his car. The sleeves of his button up shirt were rolled up exposing his forearms . He had his ankles crossed and his head lowered staring at something at his feet.

She silently prayed he wouldn't notice her as she took quick but quiet steps in the opposite direction. She wasn't in the mood to listen to his excuses

" Liya"  she didn't stop.

"Liya" she quickened her steps. She could hear his long strides as he crossed the parking lot to follow her.

"Ya Allah liya could you just stop and talk for a moment"

She wheeled around and snapped.

"Don't you get it? I don't wanna talk to you" she was fuming.

"Then don't........ just listen to me"

" I don't wanna hear anything from you either"

"Isn't that unfair? You won't even let me try to clarify why I did it"

"I don't need to know. What could have been so important that you'd hide something like this from me?"

He took a step back and run both hands through his dark brown hair, letting out a sigh.

"Is that what you want Huh?.  Is this what you're supposed to do in a situation like this...... not even giving me a chance to try to liberate myself. Is this how the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) would go about an issue like this? "

He asked almost sounding desperate which made her heart ache.

She had what most people termed ... a weird relationship with Hasan.

(This is not really Liya remembering. Just a quick back story of their relationship)

Her mother had said that Hasan was the first person after her father to hold her after she was born. Hasan's mother  Mrs Ahmed had died due to a cancer she had hid from her husband until the last minute. Although it was long coming, Hasan's father Mr Abubakr still couldn't deal with it. He left Hasan in the care of his mother's best friend Mrs  Rahman, Liya's mother at the age of four and disappeared for three months.
