You were fed up completely with Meriadoc Brandybuck and his teasing you constantly. And, of course, your stubborn heart didn't want to let go of your long-time crush on him. You got your chance to confront him when Aragorn asked you both to collect firewood. The moment he turned around, carrying a small stack of dry wood, you crossed your arms and stared at him. He tilted his head, his gaze calm, and even had the nerve to ask what he did wrong. Your jaw clenched and you sighed angrily.
"I am sick of your teasing and fooling around, Merry. Don't you realize it hurts me?"
He shrugged and bobbed his head around for a moment before replying, so soft you could barely hear, "Well, maybe a kiss would make you feel better? I certainly wouldn't mind-"
You, of course, promptly smacked him in the jaw and stomped away, frustrated at how your heart trembled at his words.
