For eons, the Goddess of the Day and the Goddess of the Night had been in love—a love born at first sight.
Yet, they had never even had the chance to exchange a kiss. As the Day would drive her golden chariot across the sky to claim a kiss from Night's lips, Night's chariot would drive away to make way for dawn to strike the Human realm. And as the day came to a close, Night would come to claim her time in the sky in her midnight chariot, the stars her shining silver fuel behind her, but not the kiss she desired.
Night wanted to tell Sun that she was the light of her life and the Sun wanted to tell Night that stars danced in her eyes, as humans said to the ones they loved.
But Day followed Night and Night followed Day. They were doomed to forever follow hot on their lover's trails, but never meet them.
Because they could simply never exist together.
It was Day and Night, not Day with Night, after all.
