as you wake up, you immediately feel your cheeks burn with heat. as you're not feeling well, you ascertain that you could have a fever.

you tremble as you slowly get out of bed. "mom" you try to yell, the words however coming out weakly. you repeat yourself a few more times before your mother walks in.

"yes sweaty? oh- are you feeling okay? you look very pale" your mom asks sweetly as she places your hand on your forehead.

"you're burning. lay down back on the bed and i'll get you the thermometer to see if you have a fever." she smiles at you, tucking you back into bed.

you grab her arm as she is about to get the thermometer. "could you also get me a cup of tea" you ask weakly. she nods and goes to get the two things.

you sigh and grab your phone. you are about to text jinju you'll not be coming to school today when the realisation kicks in that you aren't talking at the moment.

you bite your lip as you remember that you were supposed to meet ten today.
