"You can't do this."

I was certain it was my voice.

"Stella, you have to. It's a tradition."

I watched myself sitting on a pink satin queen bed in a sunlit room, arguing with a well-aged woman who looks and is dressed like a queen. "Why isn't Cameron going to have to go through this?"

"You know that he's going to go through this, too. It happens that you're the eldest. And your years have ripen."

"But, mom, he's not okay! Can't I marry some other heir?"

"Stella," the queen sighed. "We have no choice. The Bennets will buy our kingdom if we don't merge with their family. Stella, darling, please keep in mind that our kingdom is in the middle of a financial crisis. The people of our kingdom is counting on you."

"Mom, help me. You know the feeling, right? You've been through this."

"Alright. Go back to the place where I grew up and finished college."

I watched myself frown. "And where is that?"

"Stonebridge Heights--"
