< I can't make you love me - Dave Thomas Junior >
Cause I can't make you love me, if you don't
I'll close my eyes, then I won't see
The love you don't feel when you're holding me—
Eight grade

"TRUTH OR DARE!" Chanted the eight graders as they sipped on the vodka they stole from their parents cupboards.
"No!" Shouted Cherrise when she was dared to kiss Aiden Ballenger. "I don't kiss toads!" She rolled her eyes, standing up and exiting the circle the kids sat in.
"Who's next!" Aiden yelled, challenging his peers as they gave one another anxious looks. Who would be the next person to do something so stupid all because he said so?
"My turn!" Justin shouted, entering the room with a solo cup held in the air. Cheers erupted as he smirked, maneuvering between the crowd and sitting in the circle where Cherrise once sat. He scanned the circle and found the one girl he came for in the first place- Olivia.
"Olly!" He shouted as she sat across from him, giggling about something with Aaron Rascal. Justin scowled at the two when they didn't pay any attention to him. He came to this stupid party for her and she won't even glance at him!
"Truth or dare, Justin," Aiden said, now running a hand through his thick black hair with mischievousness laced in his eyes.
"Uh," Justin gulped, glancing to Olivia who now had her eyes nailed to him. She was surprised he even showed up to this thing- she asked him earlier if he would go but he declined and now he showed up...?
"Truth?" He said, uneasily as people called him names, "Fine! Dare, then!"
Aiden stood up, scanning the room like they were all prey. He tapped his chin then placed a hand on his eyes to cover his vision. He pointed a finger and then twirled. He stopped, pointing at Olivia, opening his eyes. "My oh my, we're gonna have some fun, huh." Aiden smirked, rubbing his hands together. "I dare Justin to kiss Olivia!" He announced with a wide smile.
"Wha-" Olivia's eyes almost bulged out of her head. "No! He's-I- Wha- no!" She turned to Justin, "he won't kiss me." She stated, crossing her arms over her chest.
Justin stared at her, chewing on his bottom lip in thought. He's always loved her, now he has a reason to kiss his best friend. He would be her first kiss and that's all he would ask for.
He was nervous as hell, watching her reaction to the simple thought of kissing him. But, he covered it up and smirked, trying his best to be cocky even though he felt his hands shaking on the cup he held. "Why not? scared my lips will be too magical you can't stop once we kiss, Olly?" He asked, setting his cup besides him and leaning back on his forearms. The crowd watched with amusement, cheering for them to kiss.
She scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Of course not," she shook her head, "Fine, kiss me." She leaned forward on her knees, moving herself to the middle of the circle. She was challenging him; she knew he wouldn't kiss her. They knew each other since first grade, he wouldn't kiss her! He would chicken out!
They're best friends for fuck's sake. Would a kiss make it awkward? Olivia asked herself with wide eyes as Justin leaned forward as well.
The audience went quiet for a second- jaws dropped. Kissing isn't that big of a deal, but everyone knew they were best friends, they were shocked.
