I'm a pathetic poet
I push people away
and when those relationships break
I use those shattered pieces
to carve stories into my skin
I beat myself up
for being so emotional
and paint pictures
dedicated to the scars
I fall in love with the ghosts of boys
and build worlds for them
in my head
so I won't feel
alone at night
I'm a pathetic poet
because I put myself in harms way
just so I can have
something to write about
