"yoongi?" taehyung rested his hand on the smaller boy's head and ruffled up his hair, he was still completely drunk, face redder than a tomato, "you looks so so sad." he pouted and pulled at yoongi's cheek to make him smile, even if it was artificial.

"taehyung, stop." the group of boys hear a voice from behind. they all turn around to see mr.kim with a hand on his hip, glasses resting perfectly on the bridge of his nose, a smile on his face which make the dimples on each side of his cheek show up more prominently.

the presence of their old teacher make both hoseok and taehyung extremely ecstatic, "mr.kim!" they say in unison and suddenly hoseok is scooting over to make space and taehyung's grabbing and extra seat.

"please, we're all grown ups here, call me namjoon." their teacher says smoothly as he elegantly takes a seat right in between jimin and seokjin.

he was only eight years older than them, but he still looked so young and seokjin was practically drooling over him. hoseok noticed and smacked his arm before whispering something in his ear which makes seokjin stand up and let the younger boy sit in his seat.

"okay namjoonie~" taehyung coos and namjoon cringes, "no, stop that taehyung. i said you can call me namjoon."

taehyung's infamous cheesy grin makes its way onto his face, making namjoon internally regret what was coming next, "that's what i said, namjoon," a relieved smile was starting to form on mr.kim's face... until, "-ie."

a small groan escaped from his mouth as he looked around the table to see copious amounts of empty soju bottles and beer cans lying around.

"jeez, did all my students become alcoholics?" he asks as he grabbed the clean shot glass, hoseok pouring him a drink. "thank you, that's more than enough." mr.kim says and takes a drink.

"mr.- i mean namjoon," yoongi spoke up quietly, his face dusted a light pink from the unusualness of calling his teacher by his first name and the fact that he was a little bit wasted, "i-i think i heard you had something for me?"

namjoon smiles again, "yes, in fact i do. thank you for reminding me." he spoke and reached into his satchel as they all watched intently on what it was.

taehyung snorted and hoseok's mouth dropped open not expecting for the thing to be... well... that.

"i reckon this is your pencil." he says and yoongi's suddenly feeling a little bit more empty, his hand shook as he reached over the table to grab it out of namjoon's hand.

at a slight loss for words at this point, all yoongi managed to get out was a, "uh, thanks."

"can't believe you held onto that after all these years, namjoon." seokjin jokes.

namjoon chuckled at the reactions and didn't say another word as he dug his hand back into the bag, taking out a sealed white envelope, with yoongi's name written prettily on the front.

"this," he twirls the paper in his hand, "is the actual thing i wanted to give to you." his teacher says and hands yoongi the unopened letter. yoongi held it in his hands gently, knowing that the handwriting belonged to jungkook.

"it came for you about two and a half years ago," namjoon told him as he watched yoongi state at it in his hands, "i didn't have anyway of contacting you, so i held onto it until i saw you again,"

yoongi still didn't speak, his friends just sat there silently wondering if yoongi was going to open it, "there was a letter for me as well," yoongi's head shot up, "he explained that you'd changed your address and even your number and that he didn't know how to reach you anymore."

he couldn't hold out anymore.

yoongi ripped open the letter, reading and re-reading multiple times with fresh tears in his eyes, he read until the tears blurred his vision so he couldn't read it anymore, but even then, he's already read it enough times to recite it from memory.

"i-i need to go." yoongi announces, standing up abruptly from his seat, "y-you can eat and drink as much as you want, it's on the house."

he grabbed his jacket and ran for the door, leaving the letter behind.

yoongi,

it's been a while, yoonie. i'm so sorry. i did it, i found myself. i'm sorry i left you all those years ago. it still pains me to remember how i left you that day, but i promised didn't i? i promised that i would come back for you.

i'm sorry it took so long and all the waiting you had to do, but this time i'll wait for you. i'll wait until the day you see this letter. i'll wait for you every night at the place we met in person for the very first time.

i'll be there waiting until you meet me.

i love you, yoonie
