the man stepped forward while yoongi took a step back.

"you." yoongi laughed incredulously. he was scared, but more nervous than anything.

this couldn't be real. why was he here now after he accepted everything? after yoongi accepted that he would never see him, talk to him, hold him, touch him again?

"stop." yoongi said suddenly when the man tried to take another step towards him.

throughout the very short encounter, his eyes were fixed towards the ground, barely even looking at the man's lower body. yoongi wasn't brave enough to look at him. he wasn't ready.

"yoon-" "no." yoongi interrupted him abruptly, his hand coming out in front of himself to tell the man to stay in his place.

he immediately heard the man sigh, the plastic bag in his hand making a loud crinkling sound as he moved.

there was a moment of silence where they just stood, doing absolutely nothing. it wasn't like yoongi was waiting for anything... or was he? what could he have possibly been waiting for?

and if he wasn't waiting, why wasn't he moving yet? he had nothing to say.

he was getting ready to say something, yoongi could feel it, just like he knew that the man was staring at the top of his head since he couldn't see his face.

"you saw the letter?" he asked quietly, but yoongi's breath hitched when the man spoke the sentence, his voice was different, deeper.

yoongi didn't answer, instead, he asked a question in return, "you left me. where'd you go?" his voice held barely any emotion. it was blunt and straight to the point, he just wanted to know that. the man owed it to him to at least share that small detail.

"i needed to find myself," he replied without any hesitation, as if he had been practicing this exact conversation thousands of times. yoongi knew this though. his head repeated this any time and every time he remembered the man. "i needed to find my purpose, my reason for being here. i felt empty."

yoongi nodded, only a little bit hurt that the man said he felt empty before leaving him. was yoongi nothing to him? he kept his head down, "-and what'd you find out? what's your purpose?"

the man took a step forward and this time yoongi didn't move back. it only encouraged the man to keep walking until he was right in front of yoongi.

instead of looking straight down, yoongi darted his head to the side, still refusing to look the man in the eyes.

"hyung." he sighed out, "please look at me." he practically begged, but yoongi didn't. he couldn't.

before he knew, the man was holding yoongi against him, his long arms wrapping around the smaller man and stopping him from a possible escape.

it was familiar, too familiar.

when yoongi finally realized that this was truly real, he bursted into tears again, sobbing right into the man's white button up shirt. not caring at all about how loud he was.

he held yoongi tight, the man's chest heaving. the man was crying too, his hold around yoongi was not loosening even a tiny bit, it only grew stronger. "hyung, i'm sorry. so so sorry."

the man pushed the back of yoongi's head towards him so he'd be closer to his chest, enough for yoongi to hear the man's heartbeat.

"please," he pleaded yoongi again, except now he sounded more desperate than before, as if he was losing something, "let me explain everything."
