I walked through the forest, trying to forget my paranoia. Everything was packed into my enchanted bag and secured. Everything was fine. All I had to do was cover enough ground to avoid Geraim's guard patrols.

The guards would come around once the sun landed just above the trees at dawn and dusk , and once again when the sun was high above me. Three patrols a day, like clockwork. All I had to do was avoid them.

In short, I needed to cover enough ground to get out of the forest before the guards came. I might as well be considered a dead man if I come across them.

I would eventually come upon the great mountainous region, crossing the city of Hanne. There, I will sell some enchantments, and buy some food with the money. Hanne was less guarded than Kritiks, so it should be safer and easier to go there.

All I need to do is get out of Tarrendale, and fast, before Geraim starts his next attack. I could end up three countries over, and still be at risk. Geraim is fierce. I could escape him, if I tried hard enough. I knew it.

...

The pain in my stomach persists, even if I had forgotten about it for awhile. I'm starting to think I shouldn't have waited to get a healing mage. The bandages have even started to show blood on them. Thick, red, blood. Curdling and clumping the further and further I walked. I needed to get going, whether my blood soaked through the bandages or not.

...

I have the strangest feeling. I was being watched. The paranoia of being by yourself in the woods gets to me time and time again. Carefully I look around me, searching for the slightest movement. Nothing but a soft breeze rustling the bushes. Right? My hand lay rested where my dagger was, in its halter, but I didn't draw it. I looked around once more, carefully decoding if I'm just being superstitious.

Another look around, and another, I still couldn't see anything. I know I'm not being watched. It's impossible.

"Is anybody there?" I said, only raising my voice just a little. No response.

"Is any-"

An arrow, grazing my shoulder, sharp enough to kill, stuck into the tree that my back was against.

Another one, resting just on the other side. It's tail, waving back and fourth slightly until it came to a stop.

And a third, right above my head.

This is a checkpoint, this is the best spot to go to if you ever let Ivar die in the next few sections.
This is truly where the story begins, and I think you all will enjoy the ride.
